CONGRATULATIONS GILLIAN RYAN - LIFE MEMBER CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1700m
Expecting Sun Beauty to take up the running with Alpine Rose and Sabatina close at hand.
SABATINA (3) stepped up quickly to 1600m at Dubbo last start and was brave in defeat, finding the line well only to miss by half a length. Should have no trouble with the extra 100m here and on current form she has a few lengths on these. ALPINE ROSE (2) tackled a $12K BM50 at Dubbo last time and was only beaten a neck in a welcomed return to form. Fit mare who should fill the quinella spot. BILLABONG ALVIN (5) settled at the tail before passing a few in the straight over 1400m in a maiden at Warren recently. Looks in need of this sort of trip. PRIZUGA (6) wasn't all that far off them in a 1400m maiden here eight days ago. One for the exotics. BIG BERTHA (7) led then held on for third in a BM50 over 2000m at Bathurst last start. Should be thereabouts again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sabatina will be short. Take the 3-2 exacta. |

KFC WELLINGTON MAIDEN PLATE 1400m
A solid tempo anticipated with Casdaemon and Diablo Dancer ahead of Hutt Street and Star Gauntlet.
NAFTALI (3) was ridden closer to the speed and held on well for second last start when second-up over today's trip at Armidale. Has been in the money at both previous third-up runs, including last prep at Muswellbrook. Has had plenty of chances but he looks to have an edge on this field. THE BULLET (5) returned to form with blinkers on last time out, closing well but finding one a little better over this course and distance. Poses a threat if he manages to hold that level of performance. HUTT STREET (2) led for home but couldn't hold out The Bullet and one other in a similar race here eight days ago. Meets him 2kgs better today with the claim so there shouldn't be a lot between them again. CASDAEMON (1) has been competitive in a couple of shorter races to launch this prep. Draws a far better gate and can improve over a bit more ground third-up. WILLIAM'S SMILE (7) is a 28-start maiden who wasn't far away last time. One for the exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Naftali to win. |

ALLENDALE MERINO - GET BACK IN THE SADDLE TONY COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
Looks to be plenty of pace with Imastatement and Bounding Bon battling for the lead.
GAIL JEANETTE (11) is back from an 18-week spell. Only raced once last prep for a new stable and failed after meeting with strong backing. Tackled a couple of stakes races as a juvenile so she must show connections something at home. Betting the key but suspect if forward enough she can win this. SIGSALY (9) has been kept fresh since a promising return over this trip at Scone a month ago. Nicely drawn and gets in with the same weight after the claim. Will race handy and give backers a great sight. CAPSITY (10) has found the line well without threatening in her two runs this prep. Not drawn the best but with added fitness she should be good enough to feature in the finish. MATILDA NO MORE (8) is back from a 227-day break for a second prep. Flew home to grab second on debut over 1100m at this track. May find this a fraction short but is one to watch for late in the piece. IMASTATEMENT (6) resumes. Missed by a whisker first-up last prep over this journey. Sure to give a good account. SUGGESTED PLAY: Gail Jeanette gets the nod. |

JD REFRIGERATION AND AIR CONDITIONING CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000m
Solid tempo expected primarily from The Hoff and Brummagen.
KEADOOL (3) tackled a Class 3 last start when coming off a five-week let-up and he did a good job to work home into fourth over this course and distance. Can slot in behind a hectic tempo from the wide draw. Strips fitter and drops in grade so this sets up beautifully. BULLANT (6) came from worse than midfield on the bend to record her maiden win last time out over 1100m at Armidale. Taking on some better types this time but she is a promising sprinter jumping from a nice gate so she should put herself right in contention. The speedy BRUMMAGEN (4) looked a chance recently over this distance at Warren but found a couple better close to home. Drops 4kgs after the allowance and he is cherry ripe after three runs back from a spell. TORENDOSETTA (7) won her maiden over 900m here eight days back. Big ask today but with a cosy run assured out of gate two she can get home into the frame without surprising. CANAMBLE (1) strips fitter and should offer a bit more today at the second run back. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen to be with Keadool. |

LOUSICK EARTHMOVING MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100m
Expecting Vicious Rumour to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sharp trip.
ABATED BREATH (8) came with a huge finish to be beaten under a length over this distance at Armidale two back. Stepped up quickly to 1500m last start at Muswellbrook and he was found wanting. Back in his right race today and with luck from the wide gate he can open the account. KEVIN (1) just missed on debut two back at Dubbo then started favourite but gave away too much start here at this trip last time. Handy three-year-old who will enjoy the strong tempo anticipated here and can easily finish over the top of them. NUCLEAIRE (10) led and just failed to hold on over today's journey at Armidale two back. Less effective most recently when scaled back to 1000m. Worth another chance. VICIOUS RUMOUR (7) travelled on the speed and gave a good kick to hold onto a minor placing eight days ago over this track and distance. That was her first outing in seven months so there should be improvement to come. MONTY ROAD (2) found 900m too slick on debut last time. Another likely improver. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Abated Breath. |

STUART TOWN PUB - IRONBARK INN BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1600m
Genuine tempo from Accrue leading Sports Page.
Cannot rule any of these out. SAINT PHILOMENA (9) tackled open company last start and gave a tremendous sight, leading until the shadow of the post over the mile at Warren. Only carries a kilo more today back in a BM66. Can take a sit this time from the good draw and will be very tough to hold out. MARNOO (5) made it two wins on end when he toughed it out in a similar race to this at Quirindi 11 days ago. Getting up in the weights but he is hard to overlook in this sort of form. MRS BULL (6) has a remarkable top three strike rate, although she is not a prolific winner. Good effort to finish fourth in open company at Warren last start. Meets Saint Philomena poorly at the weights but she will run her usual honest race. SPORTS PAGE (7) just missed in a BM58 here at this distance recently. Tackles some smarter types this time but from gate one she can sneak into contention. NAVAL OFFICER (10) caught the eye here last start and although up in grade cannot be dismissed. SUGGESTED PLAY: Saint Philomina to win. |

WELLINGTON SOLDIERS MEMORIAL CLUB COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1400m
Solid tempo with Jade Division to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest.
TRUMPTY DUMPTY (7) has contested three consecutive Class 2 races and has performed well without threatening. Finds a far easier assignment today and the step up in distance should work in his favour. Expecting a turnaround in form. SEVEN MILE MISSILE (2) wound up strongly to be beaten under a length over 1200m at Warren when second-up after a year off the scene. Drops a level or two here. One run at this trip for win and it will be no surprise if that 100% remains intact. SANZENO (5) led but couldn't keep going over the mile at Quirindi recently. Will race on the pace and back at this trip he looks a serious contender. EAST HARLEM (8) has won three times at this trip and almost made it four last time out when edged out in a thriller at Gundagai. Always a chance in this sort of race. SHADOW DANE (3) won a Class 3 two back over the mile at Coonabarabran which is strong form for a race of this calibre. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Trumpty Dumpty and Seven Mile Missile. |
