NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:02 RAY WHITE IPSWICH, TEMPUS TWO Maiden Plate (Set Weights) 1666m
An absence of early speed provides Hard As Brok with the opportunity to lead. HARD AS BROK (4) stepped up to this trip at Eagle Farm and just missed. Cherry-ripe now and will find this a lot easier. Ben Thompson sticks aboard the Vandyke-trained galloper and he's sure to take beating. AVERRED (2) was beaten 3L in the same race and didn't have the best of it. Peaks and may get closer today. JEDIAH (3) has had plenty of chances but improved last time beaten 2.5L over 1625m at Toowoomba. Steps up a level this time, but in this line-up, he's capable of getting some of the prize money. JADATAN (6) was well supported at Toowoomba but didn't finish it off. Drops back in trip and may prove the best of the rest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Hard As Brok.
2 01:37 GREAT NORTHERN Maiden Handicap 1100m
Solid tempo anticipated with Meanie leading the way. SUMMIT (5) peaks and has switched back from Waller's Victorian barn on a 25-day return. Has provincial form stacks right up and Ben Thompson's booking suggests the well-bred gelding is pleasing the yard. FUNKY ZEBRA (2) resumes for the Munce barn and found a place in a recent Doomben trial. He's been gelded and maps for the run of the race. Showed enough on debut to say he can make the finish. Stablemate PENSIERO (7) has been struggling to find her best form but hits this contest at peak fitness and she went better at the Sunshine Coast last time. LOPE BY NIGHT (3) needed the first up run and we will see improvement today. He draws the rail and has pieces of form that would see him in the money.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Summit to win.
3 02:12 GORDON'S GIN BM58 Handicap 800m
Lots of speed predominantly from Diamantina Rose, Before Anyone Else and Runaround Sue. The Gollan-trained BEFORE ANYONE ELSE (7) is another strong winning chance for jockey Ben Thompson. She looked a run short at Eagle Farm first-up and won easily this track/trip at her only second-up outing. Briefly freshened, the shorter sprint won't be a bother. Suited against these. DIAMANTINA ROSE (5) is fast and presents off a 4L first-up Maiden win at Gatton over this distance. She just missed here prior heavily bet and the big money came again. Promising and is sure to give a big sight. KING OF GERALDINE (8) races forward and presents fitter again. Maps well and goes well here this trip. Has more to offer and he can improve into the finish. RUNAROUND SUE (10) is a handy short course sprinter who just missed at Warwick first-up. Proven second-up and the 3kg claim brings her into it.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Before Anyone Else.
4 02:47 TAB Class 1 Plate 1350m
Expecting The Boss Man to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. BOLD ARTIC (2) wound up strongly at the end of 1200m at Rockhampton last time out, beaten just 0.7L. He was good at the Sunshine Coast the one before also in stronger. Fitter again and well placed with the 3kg claim. SPIRIT OF NURAI (11) was second-up and spiked her figures beaten a nose here over 1200m in a CL2. Has a 1.5kg claim in easier and will be further improved. Can make the finish with average luck from the awkward gate. INTRUDER (3) peaks and has a key gear switch. This is a bit tougher but he's going well enough to get into the frame. THE BOSS MAN (5) is a former Victorian who resumed with a tidy Maiden win at Rockhampton. Has more to give and has an inside gate and a handy 2kg claim. The tongue tie is on for the first time and keep him onside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Bold Artic.
5 03:22 THE @JACKLEIGHH INSTA STAKES Class 4 Handicap 1666m
A lack of early speed leaves it open for Captain Fenkel to run them along. CAPTAIN FENKEL (1) was nudged out at Eagle Farm in stronger before the spell over 1800m and resumed there is a 70 over 1400m and needed the outing. Proven second-up and has the inside barrier and handy 3kg claim. The step up in trip suits, and he's well placed to win. BENFICA LASS (4) was well back on straightening at Toowoomba but finished off well over 1300m. The step up in distance should suit this time around and she can run into the finish. MADALSA (3) was quickly back on track last start, finishing a close third over 1625m at Toowoomba. Tumbles in weight this grade and that brings her right into it. REGGIE'S FOLLY (7) has been in the market at his last couple of starts but hasn't made an impression, last start running fourth at Gatton. Rates as a place chance.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Captain Fenkel.
6 04:00 BARRIER REEF POOLS BM60 Handicap 1100m
Strong tempo with Purezza, Brutal Glory and Viale going forward ahead of Spiked and Bold As Brass. BRUTAL GLORY (7) resumes with Rodd sticking from a soft trial. Maps to advantage and races well at this track. Has the ability and with the two fancied ones scratched he comes right into it. PUREZZA (1) just missed before delivering a CL3 at Toowoomba as expected. Has a handy 2kg claim today and will run along from an inside gate. She is sure to give a big sight. VIALE (11) resumes and has switched stables. Just missed at Ballina heavily bet at her last fresh run and has trialled well. Has the ability and on song is a winning hope. GALPIN (8 ) has switched from a Victorian stable on a 202 day return. Will race over further but has shown enough to keep well onside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Brutal Glory.
7 04:40 SEVEN NEWS OPEN Handicap 1100m
Anticipate Krakarib, Bring Me Kash and Maximum Output to set a strong tempo. TROIKA (7) improved again at Doomben and then was beaten a whisker at the Sunshine Coast at this level. That's good form for this contest. Loves the trip, and he can make his first visit to Ipswich a winning one. THELWELL (6) was slightly planer last time, but rates well on his Gold Coast effort the one before. Maps well and keeps the handy 2kg claim. Has been kept on the fresh side and can fight out the finish. MAXIMUM OUTPUT (1) found an Open at Eagle Farm too much of a stretch seeking the hat-trick off wins here and at the Gold Coast. Better suited and he can get back on track. DON'T STOP (2) is third-up and was winning range last time in a 90 at Doomben. Was beaten 2L in Stakes grade here before the spell. The inside gate should advantage and he'd be right in the finish finding his best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Troika.
8 05:20 RACING AND SPORTS Class 5 Handicap 1200m
Solid tempo anticipated with Oberoi Princess heading them off. A good contest. PARTY SPIRIT (11) was in the firing line on the bend narrowly beaten over 1100m at this track when resuming from a spell. Proven second-up and is placed to advantage. Has a soft gate and winning rider Lang is reunited. MISHANI RENEGADE (2) missed the hat-trick in tougher at Eagle Farm and can get back on track at this level. Will go forward again and just needs a touch of luck in that endeavour. An each way hope. OBEROI PRINCESS (8) was beaten a lip here first up and is sure to build on that. Sits handy and can go back-to-back without surprise. BILLIONAIR BABY (6) has been racing well without winning and keeps Ben Thompson. Maps for a soft run must be included.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Having something on Mishani Renegade each way.
