NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:30 VINERY STUD MAIDEN HANDICAP 900m
Third Base should find the front with I'm Opinionated and The Warrior on his heels. EMPRESS TSARINA (3) was stretched to 1450m at Muswellbrook last start and turned in the worst run of her five to date. Back sharply in trip but the heavy going should take the edge off some of her rivals. Big chance to finally break through. THE WARRIOR (1) raced handy but weakened late on debut last start over this distance at Newcastle. Won't find this quite as tough so expect him to be highly competitive. On-pacer I'M OPINIONATED (7) has led for home at her last couple but found one better on each occasion. Back in trip today and likes the sting out of the ground so she will probably prove tough to catch. THIRD BASE (2) did a good job on debut at Muswellbrook recently. Can play a big role with natural improvement to come. Dundeel debutante ROCKADEEL (4) is trialling well for local trainer Rod Northam. Will need more ground eventually but at this stage she should give a good account.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Empress Tsarina to bounce back and win.
2 01:05 JOCKEYS CELEBRATION DAY COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE 1100m
Tricky one to map with a number of debutants but over this trip there is good speed anticipated. MAGURTZ (9) debuts for local trainer Scott Singleton. Has won his last couple of trials and appears well above average. Early markets suggest that trial form will carry over to race day. SEE YOU THEN (8) made it three seconds from as many starts when she closed late but just missed out over 1000m at Tamworth last start. Handling the soft tracks okay and out to 1100m should see the best in her. WANAVAN (5) started favourite but was a little disappointing first-up over 1000m at Tamworth recently. Missed the start that day which didn't help. Worth another chance. FLYING MOLLY (6) has found the line well to pick up minor prizes in her two runs this prep, both over shorter journeys at this circuit. Ready to peak with this slight step up in distance. KING JERRY (3) resumes. Best form in the maiden prep was over a bit more ground but while fresh he should give a good account.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Magurtz to win on debut.
3 01:40 MUSWELLBROOK FORD BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1700m
Not much early speed on paper and Charleroi is the most likely leader. CHARLEROI (1) is deep into her maiden campaign but continues to race well. Started favourite when a game runner-up over 1600m at Gosford last start. Loves it wet and drops in grade today so despite the big weight he should get the job done. STORM PARK (7) has closed off well without threatening in his two runs this time in work, the latest over 1500m at Hawkesbury. Finished second in a Class 1 over the mile at this stage last prep. Ready to find some form. GREAT POINT (5) stormed home to win her maiden over 1400m at Tamworth three back but has struggled in a couple of subsequent Highways. Good wet tracker who can bounce back in this more suitable contest. OAKFIELD MAMSELLE (2) has been plain in two runs this prep at the provincials. Back in class today so worth one more chance. BUSH TELEGRAPH (4) can improve dropping back in trip.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Charleroi.
4 02:20 NEWGATE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1000m
Strong tempo from Singing Star, Champagne Tonight and Catchy Tunes. Singing Star, Champagne Tonight and Catchy Tunes can set a strong tempo. CAPITAL DANCER (3) has been mixing her form. Best recent effort was three back when she just missed in a Class 1 over 900m at this track in soft ground. Looks well placed to return to form. EDGE OF MIDNIGHT (4) chimed in late but missed by a lip when resuming over this course and distance on 14 July. Yet to be beaten in two second-up runs, although they were on good tracks. Sure to give a great sight. Lightly raced filly CHAMPAGNE TONIGHT (7) stormed home late but just ran out of time over 950m at Moree recently when second-up from a spell. Perfectly drawn and still has room for further improvement. ECHELON (6) had a seven-week break and was lining up for Brett Cavanough for the first time when successful in a Muswellbrook maiden last time. Sure to kick on and handle this better grade. MANAGE THE CYCLE (1) came from last to salute here at this trip last start. Handles the going and is one to watch for if they can run on in these conditions.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Capital Dancer each-way.
5 02:55 SCONE EQUINE HOSPITAL CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1600m
Expecting Another Peach to bounce to the front and lead from the low draw. NGUNNAWAL (4) spotted the leader a big start but accelerated in great style to collect his maiden last start over this distance at Newcastle. Coped with the soft ground that day and at just the third run of the prep has more to offer. PINDORAMA (11) won over 1300m here on debut then stayed at the trip last time and finished third after coming from well back. Ideally placed out to the mile now. Can finish right over the top of these. OCEANFRONT (5) caught the eye when resuming over 1400m at Tamworth recently, coming from next to last to get up for second in heavy going. Beautifully in after the claim and should feature in the finish again. Honest filly ANOTHER PEACH (8) finally cracked her maiden last start over 1410m at Grafton. Looks ready to tackle the mile for the first time. LADY FELINA (10) was well held here last start but can do a lot better with the blinkers going on for the first time.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Ngunnawal in a competitive race.
6 03:35 YARRAMAN PARK MAIDEN PLATE 1300m
Strong tempo from Satin Sparkle, Dwayne and What A Gent. Satin Sparkle, Dwayne and What A Gent can set a strong tempo. DWAYNE (1) is six runs into his maiden prep and keeps stepping up. Freshened up since finishing less than two lengths from the winner over 1550m at Canterbury six weeks ago. Switched from Waller to Nathan Doyle and looks well placed to make an instant impact for the new yard. ZO FRILLING (10) registered her fifth minor placing from eight starts when beaten narrowly over 1400m at Newcastle last start. Handy filly who loves the soft tracks and is sure to play a big role again. MACHRIMORE (14) was in commission on debut recently over 1200m here and did a good job to battle on for third. Only needs to cope with the give in the ground to be competitive again. XERXES (4) led in a different role for him and failed by a whisker last time out over 1400m at Tamworth. Loves the sloppy conditions and should give them something to catch. SATIN SPARKLE (8) finished just ahead of Machrimore at this track last time. Should be thereabouts again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Dwayne is ready to break through.
7 04:10 NSW JOCKEYS ASSOCIATION COUNTRY BOOSTED CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1300m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Sebilla. GIRRAWHEEN (5) stalked the leaders then finished a shade too well in a BM58 over 1100m at Dubbo last start. Mudlark who will enjoy getting out to this trip at the third run back. Can win again. SOLITARIO (2) maintained his 100% top-three strike rate when beaten narrowly over 1400m at this track last time out. Interested to see a tongue tie going on today. Strong wet tracker who looms as the obvious threat. ARAMBYS (12) produced a far better run last start when second-up from a spell, making serious late inroads to be beaten under two lengths over 1200m at Tamworth. Handled the heavy that day and over an extra 100m will be tough to hold off. UPWARDLY MOBILE (8) resumes. Won first-up at this circuit last prep so keep her in mind. SEBILLA (7) was beaten under a length in a Class 3 here on 17 May but has failed twice in town since. In the right race to bounce back.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Girrawheen.
8 04:50 PRYDE'S EASIFEED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1200m
Pace looks strong with Dubai Gold and All Too Wild pressing forward to challenge Lightning Speed along the inside. CAPICELLA (2) appreciated the drop in grade when successful over 1460m at Queanbeyan last start. Kept fresh since that win forty days ago and has switched to the Scott Singleton yard. Drawn to enjoy a cosy run and the conditions are not an issue. Should be in the finish again. CRESTA RUN (6) has hit the line well but found one better in her two runs this time in work, the latest over 1300m here three weeks back. Only needs luck from a wide draw to be in the finish. DUBAI GOLD (7) led but knocked up badly in the run home over 1300m at Newcastle recently. That run on a wet track followed a 32-day break so he will tighten up and offer more resistance this time. ALL TOO WILD (12) added to her strong first-up performance with a close second over this trip at Gosford last start. Honest filly who is sure to be about the mark. MAGICAL ELEGANCE (8) ran on nicely over 1100m at Bathurst last time and looks well placed out to six furlongs.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Capicella each-way.
