NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:01 Eva Wilcox Maiden Plate 1881m
Genuine pace with Herrlich taking up the running ahead of Phair Plan and Five Star King. HERRLICH (8) resumed in good order at Bendigo and was beaten a whisker following at Terang over this distance. He will run along and again fitter can break through. COLONEL HATHI (5) peaks and has been threatening a win. Finally draws an inside gate and is worth another chance. REBELLIOUS HOPE (11) raced forward when beaten 1L at Ballarat over 1400m. Steps up to this trip for the first time and is fit enough for the challenge. The rails gate should advantage. LORD DEVENISH (2) resumed with a solid effort at Mornington and can build; on that. Has a handy 3kg claim today. FIVE STAR KING (7) showed enough two-back to consider.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Herrlich.
2 12:36 Hygain Maiden Plate 1474m
Genuine tempo expected. MONEY TEAM (4) came back from Gosford and raced more forward at Pakenham missing a whisker over 1400m. Third up now and will position forward from the inside gate. On a 9-day return and third-up, he can go one better. CINQUE TERRE (9) was quickly back on track at Benalla before a narrow defeat here improving again. The form reads well but he draws even wider today and will give away a start. She goes close with average luck. POSEIDON'S SON (11) showed enough last preparation to consider. He narrowly missed at Ararat first-up and will improve off that. May need a touch longer now but has to be considered.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Money Team.

Moderate pace only with The Cuban leading Exciting Times. ABSTRUSE (8) was nudged out at Benalla heavily bet and then the money came again here where she was beaten 1.5L. Peaks now and the longer sprint suits. Draws for a cosy run and she should be winning. TATSU (3) resumes and was beaten a nose at Wodonga before the spell. That stacks up and he will be naturally improved. He should go well. EXCITING TIMES (5) was better at Geelong and then spiked her figures again narrowly beaten here. She will be around the mark. EVERYTHINGISAUTUMN (9) resumes with a 4kg claimer aboard and is likely to return in better shape.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Abstruse.
4 01:46 Lauren Denys 0 - 58 Handicap 2847m
Understated should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep him honest. MR ZIGMUND (9) brought easy wins in the bush to Cranbourne and missed a whisker over 2600m in a 64. The extra 247m shouldn't bother and he can bounce back. SUFFOLK STAR (1) is an improver from the Preusker yard and can springboard off the 1L defeat at Geelong over 2200m. Gives every impression this trip will suit and he presents at peak. WOTOODLOU (2) races handy and has been trying hard in this grade mixing staying trips. Hard-fit and is likely to run out the trip better than most. EL CAMPEON (3) was back in the winner's stall winning at Swan Hill this level over 2400m. He can get into the money on that effort.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Mr Zigmund.
5 02:56 Happy Birthday Stan Golubenko 0 - 58 Handicap 1474m
Genuine tempo with Cent To War leading the way. AMERICAN LIAISON (1) peaks for the Ellerton yard off a narrow defeat at Ararat. Keeps improving and gets the nod in a competitive race. ROBERT THE PUSS (4) got too far back at Benalla in a strong for race but had been going along well prior. Missed a whisker three back at Werribee and has been kept on the fresh side. THE UNTACKLABULL (5) threatened at Geelong and Mornington before a plain run last time. Overlooking that and will get every chance from the low barrier. LONRIK (3) gets in well with the 3kg claim and is ready to show his best. That would have him around the mark and he has the first-time blinkers applied.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to American Liaison.
6 03:31 Gary Buckley, Life Member 0 - 58 Handicap 1474m
Certain to be a strong tempo with Basso Caruso leading the charge. Competitive. QUEEN OF MALWA (8) tries hard and would be hard to beat if she found her best. She was a comfortable winner at her only try at this track and can sit handier today from an inside gate. BENCOUVER (3) is tied up and has plenty up his sleeve. She settled last and wasn't far away in a strong-form race at Benalla last time. Uses and inside gate and has the handy 3kg claim. ALMIGHTY WILL (1) needed the first-up run in stronger and flies second-up. Has a tricky gate but has won twice here and the 2kg claim brings him right into it. GREY GHOST (5) went close at Mornington first up and hasn't missed a beat. Fitter and can get into the money.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Queen Of Malwa each way.
7 04:11 Vale Brian Fleming 0 - 58 Handicap 1115m
Pace looks strong with Helpmebrutha pushing forward from an outside draw along with Stirrup in closer. Not a lot of depth. ROYAL SIGNAL (7) resumes and this is winnable if she is presented forward. Pulled up last time with an issue and has been given plenty of time to get over it. Has strong pieces of form and the 2kg claim is handy. VILLIANAIRE (6) turned the form around winning comfortably here in a 64. Enjoyed the sting out of the ground and may not get that today. Rates strongly on that effort and has a 2kg claim in easier grade. Must be considered. MAGIC BERTIE (4) found more like his best when just out of the placings at Ballarat. Has the rail but has been giving away starts. A hope if things work out. DANERICH DAN (3) would be a chance on his Pakenham effort two-back. The 3kg claim is handy but he needs luck from the wide gate.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Royal Signal if the betting suggests stable confidence.
8 04:46 Happy Birthday Cameron Lloyd 0 - 58 Handicap 1115m
Solid pace with Roc The Wolf finding the front with a few other speedy types close at hand. BROOKLYN BABY (6) rides the pace and resumes following a deserved Mornington Maiden win. She's likely to return further improved and has the advantage of the rails barrier. Tipping she can take the next step. DIAMATTI (3) would be a genuine winning chance at best and fourth-up should be ready to show more. An inside barrier should advantage. STEEL MASTER (4) found more like his best at Ballarat. Peaks now and keeps the 3kg claim. Draws awkwardly today and that's a slight niggle.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Brooklyn Baby if the money comes.
9 05:15 Suzie Wise 0 - 58 Handicap 1881m
Slick tempo to be established by Mr Eighty Eight and Arcadia Power. MON ETOILE (7) spiked his figures, beaten 1.5L at Bendigo, then raced even-money delivering the Maiden win here over this distance. Doubt this is much harder and fitter again she can take the next step. JAYZEAL (10) was back on track winning at Leeton over a mile and he has form as good and better at stronger venues. The extra metres shouldn't bother and the 3kg claim brings him into it. BRASADA (8) and MIGHT JUST HAPPEN (11) also deserve consideration.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Mon Etoile to win.
