4RACING WELCOMES YOU MAIDEN JUVENILE PLATE 1600m
PEARL IN HER CROWN (4) made the expected natural improvement when second in her last start over 1160m at Turffontein. She will like the rise in distance and looks well placed to go one better. PARISIAN WALKWAY (3) produced a promising debut effort over 1160m at Turffontein. He jumped outwards leaving the start, but stayed on well at the finish. to place third of nine. He would have gained from the experience and he should make the natural improvement needed. SONIC JET (6) has produced three decent efforts to date. She may have done too much too early last time and the blinkers have been quickly removed. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and she should be figuring in the finish. MIZZEN SWORD (2) is a first-starter by William Longsword from Mizzen Mist who has been a fine producer including winners at black type level. Worth considering. |

LITTLE BALLERINA (1) won a game race in her last start over 1160m. She is the class horse in this race and she should prove hard to beat. IT'S HER WAY (3) is a talented filly who was well held last time out in a tougher race over 1160m at Turffontein Standside. Likely to push forward and race up on the pace. Has each-way claims. KINDRED HEART (4) won a game race in her last start over 1000m on the Classic course when well supported. She takes on a competitive field but is a progressive type and should give a good account of herself. GREEN SAPPHIRE (5) is a two-year-old filly on debut by Gimmethegreenlight from Sapphire Gem who has been a fine producer including winners at black type level. Well worth a second look. |

SHINTO SHRINE (14) produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. He was slowly into stride but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish to run second of nine was encouraging. He would have gained from the experience and he should like the extra 200m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected rates highly. GRAND CRESCENDO (12) resumes from a spell during which time he would have strengthened up. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and fresh-up has each-way claims. ILHA DA ORANGE (9) was disappointing in her last start over 1200m. Her penultimate run when finishing third over this distance was fair. She can finish in the placings. LIGHTINTHESTORM (13) finished out of the money on debut two starts back then finished seventh over 1200m contest at Turffontein Inside last start. Looks well placed in this line-up so expecting a big run this time. |

OFFICER IN COMMAND (5) was not disgraced when fifth in his last start over 1800m on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this distance. He takes a slight drop in class and may prove hard to peg back. MAJESTIC PALACE (4) won a good race in his last start over this distance on the Classic course. He meets similar company and merits healthy respect. KING'S EXPRESS (2) is better than his last start run would suggest as he was reported to be not striding out. He is unbeaten from two starts over this course and distance and with S'manga Khumalo in the saddle, he can keep that record intact. MARDI GRAS (3) was in the money two starts back at this track but couldn't back it up last time when sixth at Turffontein Inside over 1450m. Has his share of ability and can do a lot better here. |

Ideally placed in this line-up and can return to winning form here. SUPREME DANCE (6) battled on well last start to finish sixth over 1800m at Turffontein Inside. Likely improver with strong top-three prospects. |

CHASING HAPPINESS (8) stayed on well when finishing fourth over 1160m at Turffontein last time when resuming from a spell. She will strip a much fitter horse today and must be included in all bets. BEAMONESQUE (3) was super-impressive when winning his maiden at the second time of asking. He returns from a spell during which time he was gelded. Fresh-up and jumping from a good draw of three rates highly. |

The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. He takes on weaker opposition here and if confirming his recent improvement he should be the one to beat. DANCING DORA (13) took the lead at the 300m mark last time but was caught in the shadow of the post. She should give the males a decent run for their money. CERULEAN DANCER (9) finished fifth last time out over 1200m at Greyville All Weather when sent out as the favourite. Races over a longer trip today and rates among the leading chances. SHARAPOVA (4) only finished 10th over 1600m at Turffontein Inside last start but drops in class here and can return to form. |
