NUM TIME COMMENT
1 05:15 John Duff & Co Class 1 Handicap 1400m
Genuine tempo with Everything Counts leading the way. DE LA ROCHA (6) was beaten a neck on resumption at Mornington over 1000m and appears to have come back better. His form last time in was over this sort of trip so expect improvement with that run under the belt. ROADCONE (2) couldn't have been much more impressive first-up at Seymour when winning by nearly 4 lengths. The extra trip should only suit better. EVERYTHING COUNTS (1) is having his first run in Australia and must be respected for the top stable. RICH AND JOYFUL (7) should be thereabouts.  SUGGESTED PLAY: De La Rocha each-way.
2 05:45 Wood Waste Recycling F&M Maiden Plate 1400m
The pace looks modest at best. SWEET JASMINE (9) resumes having run second at both runs in her debut campaign, beaten narrowly here before another strong effort at Caulfield. Finds a winnable race to kick off in here and will take plenty of beating for the top yard. HELLO MARY (3) made good improvement at her second outing, beaten narrowly at Sale as a short-priced favourite. Should be right in the finish again. DIVINE BELLE (2) was solid on debut at Geelong when fourth. Open to improvement and can figure this time. TRINITY'S D'ORO (10) next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sweet Jasmine to win.
3 06:15 Jack Anning Takes on Sportsbet 2YO Maiden Plate 1200m
Tricky one to map with a large contingent of first starters but expect plenty of early pressure. OLNEY (8) ran well on debut here when in the market, beaten under a length in third. The form out of that race has stood up and with race experience under the belt he'll take some beating once more. LAKE FOREST (6) is a colt by Written Tycoon on debut for the Freedman yard. He was an expensive purchase for a top sire who should be kept safe. KING BLING (13) was in the market at Sandown-Lakeside on debut but struggled. Resumes here and can go much better. GRAMMAR LAD (3) is a colt by leading sire Written Tycoon on debut for the Hayes yard. Fits the right profile and has won a jump out. Keep safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Olney on top.
4 06:45 MackTow Maiden Plate 1200m
Moderate tempo headed by Laminar. OLIVE BAGUETTE (4) resumes having run well on debut at Moonee Valley, working home well from back in the field to grab fourth. Better for that and 1200m should suit better. THEMOONSABALLOON (5) resumed at huge odds at Mornington but far outran that price, beaten a nose at 100-1. Based on the performance alone, he must have a strong chance in this. GREENIDGE (9) was disappointing at Moe last start but had been going okay prior and maps well here. LAMINAR (3) put in a much better effort second up at Seymour and can give a sight again here. GYMKHANA (2) resumes and can get into the finish.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Olive Baguette to win.
5 07:15 Anthony Wadwell Takes on Sportsbet Mdn Plate 1600m
Little early pressure expected in a race devoid of an on-pacer. MAKDANE (4) has run second in both runs back from a spell and can go one better here. He's been hard in the market at both starts and has not been far away. Maps for a soft run from the inside gate and finds a winnable race here. SACRED INGOT (6) has run second at both starts to date, beaten just half a length as the even-money favourite at Cranbourne over 1500m last start. Should be better again up in trip and will take a power of beating. BATOKA CHIEF (1) is a gelding by Sacred Falls on debut for the Price & Kent Jnr yard. The stable has an outstanding record with debutants here. Keep safe. CASCADE MOUNTAIN (2) was sound on debut at Ballarat and can improve. TERTULIA (10) next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Makdane to win.
6 07:45 TrailTrekker Floats 0-64 Handicap 1600m
A solid tempo on the cards with Bob The Horse heading them off. VERMILLION DRAGON (3) was a dominant winner on debut at Kembla Grange, putting 3.3 lengths on his nearest rival with some big late splits backing up the performance. Fresh for this and 1600m on the big track should suit ideally. NEW SOVEREIGN (2) was a strong winner on debut here over 1400m and will relish the rise to a mile given his breeding. D Lane takes the ride and he should go close. AMANI (5) won here last time and can figure. BOB THE HORSE (1) can give a sight.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Vermillion Dragon to win.
7 08:15 Carlisle Furniture & Bedding BM58 Handicap 1400m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Nondisclosure. ALMIGHTY WILL (3) made strong improvement second up to win narrowly at Kyneton. Bit more depth here but will be hard to hold out again at each-way odds. REAL ALLIANCE (8) is the one with upside having run much better second up at Sale in a similar race. Strong chance in this. NONDISCLOSURE (4) was well beaten here first up but is open to a stack of improvement up in trip. HUNITCHIWA (9) can improve with an average run under the belt. WALKINASTRAITLINE (7) is lightly raced and will take some beating.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Almighty Will & Real Alliance.
8 08:45 9Mile Fresh BM58 Handicap 1200m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Oxley Jack. MR MAGNUS (5) was a maiden winner first up at Bendigo and has followed it up with two solid placings. Finds a similar race here and won't need to improve much to be winning here. The rise to 1200m should suit ideally. TORONLUCA (10) ran well first-up at Cranbourne over 1000m when third. Up to 1200m suits better. ISDELL (1) resumes. He was in good form prior to a spell, highlighted by a second to the smart Rey Magnerio. Consider. TOROPEAK (11) perhaps next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Mr Magnus on top.
