MOUNT PINATUBO (3) was not disgraced when finishing second last time after having won his debut two starts back by a nose. He should have no issues with the rise to 1600m. If getting away to a clean start, he should find himself in the winner's enclosure. LEGEND OF ARTHUR (1) was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag at the second time of asking. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and bolted in. Rates well as a leading chance. SUNSET RIOT (4) resumes from a spell having won last start over 1450m on the Inside course. He is a progressive type and will like the rise to 1600m. Diego De Gouveia retains the ride and he should be figuring in the finish. MOONLIGHT TRADER (2) drew clear when winning his maiden as the favourite over 1400m at the Vaal last time. If seeing out the extra 200m on offer he should be finishing in the top-three. |

WORLD OF ALICE (10) produced a promising debut effort over 1400m on this course last start when finishing third of eight over 1400m. She would have gained from the experience and will like the rise to the mile. With the natural improvement that is expected she should be hard to beat. TOO LATE MY MATE (3) won well last start at the second time of asking when sent out as the favourite. She is a progressive type and merits healthy respect. QUEEN OF FIRE (2) set the pace when winning her last start over 1400m at the Vaal. If seeing out the extra distance on offer she should go close to taking this race out. FATAL FLAW (1) was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag at the third time of asking. Progressive type with winning claims. |

BUFFALO STORM CODY (1) was impressive when winning on debut over 1000m on the Inside course last start when sent out as the favourite. Despite getting away to an awkward start, he showed pace and won with plenty left in the tank. Can keep his unbeaten record intact. WINDS OF CHANGE (6) has finished second in all three efforts to date. He moved up like a winner last time, but was outrun late. He is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders. CHIEFTAIN (2) showed good speed when winning his maiden at the second time of asking over 1000m at Scottsville. He takes on much stronger rivals but is a progressive type and may be hard to peg back. PROCEED (5) ran a fair race last start when finishing fourth of eight. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging and he can finish in the money. |

SIMPLY MAJESTIC (4) followed up her maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1000m on this course. She returns from a spell during which time she would have strengthened up. She shows good speed in her races and if fit, she should be the one to beat. BOSUM BUDDY (1) got up right up on the line when winning her last start over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders. PINATUBO (3) is better than her last start against older rivals would suggest. She won a good race on debut over 1000m on the Inside course. She has scope and cannot be ignored. WE WILL ROCK YOU (6) brings the right form to this race after taking out a 1200m race at Scottsville last time. Rates well as one of the better chances. |

TIME FO ORCHIDS (5) is a winner of her last four starts for the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable. She was settled at the rear of the field last time and ran on well over 1000m on this course. She is in a very good space and can notch up her sixth- career victory. WHITE PEARL (6) was not disgraced when finishing third of 10 last time. On best form she should be fighting out the finish. ONE FELL SWOOP (7) is a winner of four of her last five starts. She shows good speed in her races and jumping from an inside draw can notch up the hat-trick. MRS GERIATRIX (1) ran a fair race last start when finishing third of seven. She won her only attempt over this course and distance. On best form shown she should be fighting out the finish. |

GILDED BUTTERFLY (2) ran a fair race last time out when finishing fourth of seven. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and if getting away to a clean start she can return to winning form. MY SOUL MATE (8) ran a good race when finishing second of eight last time. She moved up well that day but was outrun late. Rates well as one of the leading contenders. NONE OTHER (1) should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was tightened for galloping room at the 200m mark. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. With a bit of luck in the running should be finishing in the top-three. BEATING WINGS (9) finished fourth of 10 over 2450m here last start. Looks well placed here and can return to form. |

PURE PREDATOR (6) challenged strongly but found one too good on the day. He should be ideally suited to 2000m. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he can go one place better. ARAGOSTA (2) was not disgraced when finishing third of 13 at this track. Marco van Rensburg retains the ride and if confirming his recent improvement should have a say in the outcome of this contest. HOTARUBI (7) finished a close-up fourth of 13 fourth over 2450m at this track. This doesn't look as hard so he is likely to figure in the finish. PUERTO MANZANO (1) produced ninth over 2000m at this track last start. Capable of running a place. |

JEHAN MALHERBE SENOR SANTA STAKES 1160m
SURJAY (2) is better than his last start run would suggest. He returns from a spell which would have done him the world of good. His previous form was consistent. He has plenty of class about him and if suited to this course he should be the one to beat. LUCKY LAD (3) stayed on well when finishing second last time. He is unbeaten from two starts over this course and distance. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. RULERSHIP (1) stayed on when third of 10 last time. He has won twice and finished third twice from five starts on this course. He is having his peak run and has solid each-way claims. WINTER GREETING (10) won first up at Greyville and should race on the speed, rates well as a leading chance. |

ZEUS (1) is much better than his last two starts would suggest, He does have to overcome the widest draw but gets the services of Gavin Lerena who will give him all the necessary assistance needed from the saddle. On his best form shown, he should notch up his fourth-career victory. UNITED COUNCIL (6) stayed on well when finishing third last time. She should have no issues with the 3200m and should give the males a decent run for their money. BREEZE OVER (8) ran fourth of 13 last start at this track over 2850m when resuming from a spell. Has won second-up previously and rates highly. CRIMSON KING (3) is better than his last start run would suggest as he raced wide without cover around the turn. He has a good draw of four and if finding the form of his penultimate run he should be fighting out the finish. |

ATTICUS FINCH (2) was in need of his debut effort over 1600m on this course. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He has placed over this course and distance previously and with luck in the running he may find himself in the winner's enclosure. CELTIC RUMOURS (6) ran a decent race in her last start over this course and distance when finishing fourth of 10. From her good draw of two she should give the males a decent run for their money. ZINOVI (5) was an easy winner of his last start over 1200m on the Inside course. He does take a rise in class but should give a good account of himself. LAGUNA VERDE (9) has been in the market at his last couple of starts but hasn't made an impression, last start running sixth of eight at this track. Rates as a place chance. |
