He's won a trial since then and the step out to 1400m looks ideal. Big tick with Purton sticking and with improvement expected, he's the one to beat. SMILING COLLECTOR (10) went under narrowly at this course and distance 28 days ago and looks to have his good on the till. The wide draw is a niggle, but he has raced well when settling forward or back. Stacks up nicely from last start and won't be far away again. DARING PURSUIT (1) looks ready to peak now third-up despite a 3.5L defeat last time out. Vincent Ho sticking with the galloper is a positive sign and while he's a long time between drinks, a win doesn't seem far away. MIDORI BURLY (2) drops back in grade today and was competitive in C3 earlier this campaign. Can play a major role.
