Strong early tempo with Aniki and Pacific Hero leading the way over Maxima. PACIFIC VAMPIRE (3) has led all the way and won at both starts this campaign, the latest by 3.5 lengths over 1200m at this track. Untried over this journey but is very fit so he looks the testing material. MAXIMA (2) is having his first run since November 11. Has a strong record when fresh with three wins from five runs, the most recent over 1200m on the all-weather at the start of last prep. Trialling well and makes plenty of appeal. SO HI CLASS (5) was in the money two starts back at this track but was unable to repeat the effort last time when seventh, beaten 5 lengths, here over 1600m. Ideally placed and is sure to be there at the finish. ENERGY BABY (6) performed above expectations last time over 1600m at this track, finishing a nose from the winner in second.
