From a wide draw Fun Sponge can cross over and set a genuine tempo. Competitive. NEW LEVEL (10) made sharp improvement narrowly beaten at Doomben and then went back and belted a CL2 field by 2.5L stepping up to this trip. Maps well and with Maloney sticking can go back-to-back. Gollan-trained CONDRIEU (15) has switched from a sharp Sydney barn and has been freshened. She's trialled well and her form more than stacks up. Has an awkward gate to manage but is a winning chance if the market shifts her way. SEBRING GIRL (5) is going better than the form line suggests. She's been within range at Doomben and finds easier. Keep well onside. TANNENBURG (16) peaks and has been switched from Sydney by the Waller barn on a 23-day return. Maps well and gets Rodd. Stablemate SHY GUY (12) comes back 800m from the Group 1 Queensland Derby. It's an ask but he has been kept on the fresh side and the leading hoop is booked. Certainly worth a look.
