So Call Me and Piper's Son to roll forward and dictate the tempo. BRUNO (5) won fresh up over 2000m on a heavy track last prep, and he will be resuming in a similar sort of race here. He benefits from a kilo claim and is set to give this a shake. Follow the market leads. SO CALL ME (3) is mixing hurdling with flat racing, and he won't lack any fitness. He may not have won in a while, but he is a must-include for all top 4 combos. MUSCOVADO (2) loomed large at Tauranga last time out and finished fourth less than a length from the winner. He will be spot on with his fitness now, and a wide gate could even be an advantage at this time of the day. Craig Grylls in the saddle is a strong lead, and he can take this out. DEE VEE PEE (1) has yet to fire in 2 runs this prep and will be on a 7-day back-up leading into this easier assignment. A 4kg claim will offset his weight rise, and a form reversal is likely. DERRYMAN (6) finally won his maiden at Woodville and did it in style by nearly 2 lengths. He has had a jumping trial since then, so go again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Muscovado and Dee Vee Pee both for each-way value.
