Genuine pace with Amor Victorious taking up the running ahead of Formal Display and Hellsing. The 1600m Hawkesbury Gold Cup is the best recent form reference and it was taken out by CHURCHILL'S CHOICE (6) at her third run back from a spell. Settled worse than midfield that day but quickened too well. Goes up 2kgs but probably has that much improvement in her. Great chance to do the double. TAVI TIME (1) settled next to last at Hawkesbury but got going late although never a threat. Fitter for two runs back from a spell and the wide-open spaces here are ideal. Ready to hit form now. AMOR VICTORIOUS (2) resumed at Hawkesbury last time and led for home but was swamped late, beaten just 1.5 lengths. Draws in closer today and with that first run out of the way can play a big role in this. HELLSING (12) grabbed a well-deserved victory over 1500m at Randwick last start and is in the mix down in the weights. Another big test today for FORMAL DISPLAY (18) but the form this prep has been impossible to fault. SUGGESTED PLAY: Churchill's Choice each-way.
