MAGICAL SLIPPER (4) scored by a nose two back at Barcaldine then filled a placing last time at Moranbah. Gets a little weight relief. Runner-up in a good form race latest and can go one better. HURRICANE THUNDER (7) was well in commission last start over 1300m at Barcaldine when fourth, beaten 4 lengths. Maddie Mankelow who has four wins when partnering stays on. Ready to win after two runs in and is among the leading chances. LITTLE COINTREAU (8) finished second last start at the first run back from a spell over 1300m at Barcaldine, beaten a long neck. Huge weight drop and further improvement in store. MISTREY EMPEROR (3) produced a reasonable effort when third last start over 1200m at Roma. That followed a win at Charleville the start prior. Jockey is unbeaten while aboard in four rides. Expected to feature again. HEYINGTON STATION (6) has placed 4/6 this course and distance and looks one of the better chances.
