Always plenty of early pressure in sprint races such as this with a large number of first starters. ALTERMATUM (9) resumes and boasts the right form for this. First up last campaign she ran fifth, beaten 2.75 lengths by Hayasugi at Group 2 level. The run before a spell she was third behind the smart Immortal Star and with any luck from the wide gate she'll be too hard to hold out. BIG SWINGER (5) is a gelding by Trapeze Artist on debut for the Charlotte Littlefield yard. His trial placing behind the talented Reserve Bank reads well and he should be ready to run a good race. LAKE FOREST (6) resumes having run third on debut at Pakenham when hard in the market. May have improved and is in the mix. THERAPIST (14) is a Grunt filly on debut who can run well. BRUTALINA (11) is a Brutal filly who must be respected. SUGGESTED PLAY: Altermatum to win.
