Plenty of pace with Miyagi Valiant and Angkor Guerlain up front, pressured by Gempachi Pride and Yamanin Esther. ANGKOR GUERLAIN (7) resumes today after closing off last preparation with five consecutive wins, though that was over a year ago now. He does have good early speed however, so he should take up a forward position and he'll take beating if he can pick up where he left off. MIYAGI VALIANT (10) opened this prep with a win two runs ago. Fair effort last time out when prominent at the bend before winding up in second over 1600m at Morioka Dirt, beaten 1.5 lengths. Has raced three times at this course and distance and is yet to be beaten. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time. GEMPACHI PRIDE (1) doesn't win out of turn, scoring just three times from 35 starts. Did a good job last start to finish second over 1600m at Morioka Dirt, beaten a nose. Best figures measure up nicely. Makes plenty of appeal. YAMANIN ESTHER (9) did well to score two runs ago then turned in a nice run last time out when second over 1600m at this track, beaten one length. In contention this time.
