Many of these babies step out for the first time so a strong pace is anticipated. READY MAREA (1) was on debut last start over 1050m at this track and after making a poor beginning recovered well to race third of 11 in behind the speed to the turn and then fought on well to score by a head. Trained here and in a fitter state should be hard to beat again. IT'SALL ABOUT MARY (2) debuted last start over 1000m at Eagle Farm and finished a well-beaten sixth of seven when, after making a poor beginning, she lost ground, then raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Dropping back to provincial grade and having had racing experience should improve on that last run. ANOTHER CHAMPERS (3) is a two-year-old filly on debut from the Stuart Kendrick stable. IRONROAD SPIRIT (6) is trained here and is making her debut run. Has placed in both trial runs and is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ready Marea won well on debut and should repeat the dose. |

A hot tempo is expected with plenty of speed engaged. SCRUB CHAIN (5) hasn't placed in both runs since resuming from a spell, the latest when after getting checked at the start raced well back in the running, then battled on okay to finish fourth of seven over 1100m at this track in a race tempo that suited frontrunners. He has won third-up in the past and rates well as a leading chance. TIZSO FAB (6) after having won two straight victories, went forward to find the front last start and fought on to finish second of six to the hot favourite over 1300m at this track. Dropping back in distance today could prove hard to catch. OBLIGATED (3) is a nine-time winner who has been racing in strong form this prep, including last time out when scoring as the warm favourite over 1300m at this track after racing on the speed. Races well here and can make it a hat-trick. CHERRY ROSE (1) returned to winning form last time out when scoring an easy win over 1200m at Townsville after leading. Each-way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Obligated is well-placed to record a hat-trick. |

Great Northern Long Run Handicap QTIS Maiden Handicap 1400m
Without an obvious leader, it may be left to Frosty's Gotcha, Turbo Torque and Notforthemoney to control the tempo. TURBO TORQUE (3) has placed third in two of four runs this prep, including last start when after showing good early speed from the inside draw raced on the speed and fought on well over 1500m at this track when sent out as the hot favourite. Dropping back in distance rates well as a main danger. NOTFORTHEMONEY (7) went forward from a wide draw last time out to race on the speed but faded in the run home to finish 11th of 13 over 1400m at Townsville. Will go forward to race on the pace and in his third run this prep will strip fitter and is expected to figure in the finish. HERE'S MASON (11) after making a poor beginning raced well back in the running and failed to fire, finishing sixth of 11 over 1300m at Mackay last start. Looks well placed and over a longer trip can return to form. BELVEDERE MISS (4) came home strongly from sixth of eight into the turn last start to finish a head second over 1100m at Mackay on debut when well supported. Fitter and can go one better. SUGGESTED PLAY: Turbo Torque looks ready to win. |

Queensland Hotels Association QTIS Three-Years-Old and Four-Years-Old 1050m
Plenty of speed with Krackacan, Kai Mondo and Gotta Hero leading Wax On Wax Off and Panigale. KAI MONDO (1) after placing third here two runs back finished fifth of 12 over 1200m at this track last start when after leading into the turn was swamped late. Has a solid record at this distance and jumping from the inside gate will find the lead easily enough and racing over 150m less should prove hard to roll. WAX ON WAX OFF (6) after making a poor beginning recovered well to race in behind the speed and battled on well to finish a close fourth of 13 last time out over 1200m at this track. He won his maiden race here three runs back over today's distance and dropping down 2.5kg in weight looks well placed to return to winning form. OUR EAGLE ROCK (2) resumes from a spell and having won fresh-up last prep over 1100m at this track is well worth considering. Having his first run for a new stable and should be ready to fire having had the benefit of a recent trial run over 850m at Sunshine Coast Inner Track. KRACKACAN (3) is resuming today but will be fitter for a recent trial. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kai Mondo is well placed to lead all of the way. |

Rates well as a leading chance. MISS MERCY (6) after placing in both of her previous runs finished sixth of 11 over 1000m at Sunshine Coast last start after racing on the speed to the turn. She drops 5kg in weight and from an inside draw looks well placed to return to top-three form. CANNY BE BETTER (3) ran a solid race when fresh-up from a spell last time out, finishing third of five over 1200m at Thangool. Trained here and having placed second of 10 here over today's distance last prep is worth an each-way ticket. KEYBOARD (1) lost ground after making a poor beginning, then came home well from the turn to finish second of five over 1100m at Emerald last start when sent out at long odds. Has won at long odds in the past and can fall into a place. SUGGESTED PLAY: Miss Mercy has top-three claims. |

CHAPARRAL CHASE (7) showed early speed to race on the pace last start before fading to finish fifth of nine over 1560m at Mackay when sent out at long odds. His last win came over today's shorter trip and dropping 2kg in weight he looks well placed to return to form. OUR TURN NOW (1) finished second two starts back at Townsville but failed to fire last time out when finishing ninth of 12 at this track over 1200m after having made a poor beginning when jumping from the widest gate. Is yet to miss the placings in two starts over this course and distance and with a 2kg claimer taking over the reins has each-way claims. LIMERO (2) finished second of seven over 1000m at Sunshine Coast last start after coming home well from sixth into the turn. Finds an easier line-up and racing over 400m further is worth considering. LEASE (3) after jumping from a wide draw raced on the speed and fought on well to finish third of 12 at long odds over 1200m at this track last start. In the mix. TEN CARAT LUCY (10) resumed from a spell last start over 1100m at this track and finished second of 13 as the odds-on favourite after she was held-up with 300m to run. She drops 2kg in weight and racing over 100m more in a fitter state can go one better. FLYING ANIMO (4) finished second of 11 two starts back here, then finished a close-up sixth of 13 at this track over 1200m last start when well supported. Trained here and dropping 1kg in weight can atone. LIMERO (1) fought on well to the line last start to finish second of seven over 1000m at Sunshine Coast after racing well back in the running to the turn. Racing over 200m more in distance and in an easier line-up is well worth a second look. MARELLITY (11) scored an all-the-way win over 1100m two runs back at Mackay, then last start finished third of 11 as the favourite over 1100m at Mackay when racing on the speed after she made a poor beginning.
