NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:35 MUSWELLBROOK FORD MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Perfect Force leading the way. PERFECT FORCE (7) has opened her career impressively, finishing less than a length from the winner at both runs. Raced on the speed and wouldn't lie down but found one better over this distance at Gosford last start. Ready to win back in a country maiden. GO RUSSIAN (6) is still in her first prep but with the runs now being spaced she maintains a zest for racing. Led and gave a great sight but was nailed late over 900m at Newcastle last time. Will race handy again and is going to be tough to overcome. CHECKS'N'BALANCES (2) is a North Pacific three-year-old on debut for the Archibald camp. Trialling well and should have something to offer. Betting holds the key. BUNDORAN (4) has not raced since weakening to finish fifth over 1209m at Yarra Valley eight weeks ago. Now in the Gavin Groth stable. Placed four from six including twice at this trip so from gate one she is a chance. MOKE LAKE (1) is cherry ripe and from a nice draw should be thereabouts.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Perfect Force.
2 02:10 KIA ORA COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m
Morpeth is expected to lead at a strong tempo. EAGLETURN (1) missed the kick when resuming last start over 1100m at Wyong but picked up late to finish fourth in an encouraging performance. Won't find this as tough and an extra 100m on a roomier track helps. Ready to win with the advantage of the inside alley. CURRUMBIN ALLEY (2) is back after a 33-week spell for a second campaign. Did a good job to be beaten just half a length on debut at Gunnedah last prep. Two recent trials should have him right up to the mark. Market watch on the first starter OLYMPIAN (4) from the Messara/Gavranich team. By The Autumn Sun from a Savabeel mare so he will need more ground in time but while fresh he cannot be ruled out. MORPETH (5) led but tired late in heavy ground at the end of 1280m at Muswellbrook recently. Has only raced twice so there is improvement to come. ZO FRILLING (8) gets in well after the claim and is one for the wider exotics.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Eagleturn.
3 02:45 TAB MAIDEN PLATE 1400m
Dunquin has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. SPLASH OF STEEL (6) was enormous first-up in the Magic Millions Maiden, coming from near the tail to get up for second over 1100m at the Gold Coast. Missed the jump and was never in contention last start at Warwick Farm. Needs 1400m now and the wide-open spaces of Scone are perfect. This looks his race. PAPPA BLUE (4) came from next to last after a poor start to be beaten under a length when resuming over 1200m at Canberra last time. Crying out for 1400m with that run under the belt. Draws the fence so needs to get away okay to take advantage. SCOOP THE POOL (5) is back from a 20-week spell. Competitive at the provincials last prep and a recent trial win suggests he is ready to recapture that form from the get-go. COOL SUMMER NIGHTS (7) returned in good order at Taree recently and while this looks a deeper maiden she can progress from that run and play a big role. DUNQUIN (3) tired after showing pace on debut at Port Macquarie. Less pressure over this trip so might be tough to catch.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Splash Of Steel the best bet of the day.
4 03:25 SCONE RSL COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1600m
A strong tempo is assured with Are You Kidding and Nature Boy leading the charge. GRANDINI (6) missed the start then made a long, sustained run to get up for third last start over 1400m at Tamworth. Perfectly placed out to this distance at the third run back. Might need luck at some stage from that inside draw as she gets back but if things go right she is the one to beat. ARE YOU KIDDING (1) is the X-factor after his demolition job in a 1500m Muswellbrook maiden last time out. That was on a heavy track so he has to bring that form to a firmer surface, but the dominance of the win is hard to ignore. DAMASCUS GATE (5) also scored over 1500m in the wet at Muswellbrook recently, leading for home then hanging on gamely. Definitely a better horse in heavy going but can also feature on top of the ground. ROSES IMMINENTE (3) has struggled in a couple of Class 3 Highways of late, but she can improve sharply back in this grade. BIG SHORT (4) rarely wins but has a 60% top-three strike-rate at the mile so must go in trifectas and first fours.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Grandini.
5 04:05 NEWGATE CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1400m
Looks a decent tempo with Sipping Shamus, Nay Pee Cee and Glenbower leading the charge. GLENBOWER (1) has found the line okay but been safely held in his two runs this prep, both over shorter journeys. Looks in need of 1400m now and despite a hefty 61.5kgs is ready to win. FAST BLUE (11) has rediscovered his best form of late with a couple of close-up efforts, the latest a barnstorming second over this distance at Taree. Drawn to enjoy a cosy run and will be hard to stop once presented. THE CRISTAL (4) is a lightly raced mare back from a six-month spell. Beaten under a length when fresh from a break last prep over 1500m at Hawkesbury. Two recent trials will have her up to the mark. MADAME FIOCCA (7) was too bad to be true at Canberra last start. The stable press on so assume all is well. Best form measures up so worth another chance. YACHT GIRL (10) caught the eye at the conclusion of 1200m at the Beaumont track recently. Backs up eight days later over an extra furlong which looks ideal.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Glenbower just gets the nod in a tricky race.
6 04:40 LION BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1000m
Expecting Into Brooklyn to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sharp trip. YES YES BOSS (11) led for the judge but was overwhelmed late over this distance on a heavy track at Muswellbrook last start. Good effort the run before when beaten just a length over 900m here at big odds. Looks hard to toss in an even contest. Lightly raced filly INTO BROOKLYN (5) is back from a 16-week break. Last appeared when she led all the way to win her maiden over this distance at Muswellbrook. In good hands and should go on to better things this time in work. SOLAR BLAST (3) returned from a two-month lay-off and was having his first run for trainer Gavin Groth when an eye-catching second over this distance at Tamworth last time out. Down sharply in class and has placed at four of five runs over this trip so the race sets up nicely. ECHELON (4) was plain first-up and may need one more but dropping back from 1150m to 1000m is a big help. PROVENCAL (10) has not raced since January 2025. Very effective five-furlong sprinter who is in a new yard now. Betting holds the key.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Yes Yes Boss each-way.
7 05:15 COOLMORE CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW- CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1200m
Expecting a strong gallop with Lightning Speed and Vierville taking up the running over Blend Of Three. BLEND OF THREE (2) was keen in the run then met with interference in the straight so his effort to be beaten just 1.5 lengths first-up in a Class 3 Highway over this trip at Randwick had merit. Bullock has won two from two on the five-year-old and is back aboard. Big chance in this open race. JOISELLE (1) ended a long sequence of top three finishes when down the track in a Highway at Randwick a month ago. Freshened up and has a good history at Scone so expect a far better performance. VIERVILLE (7) won here at this distance first-up then wasn't far away at the Beaumont last time. Has a perfect third-up record - he will be absolutely cherry ripe for this. FAVOUR THE BOLD (8) resumes. Opened last prep with back-to-back wins at this circuit. Lightly raced and has great scope for improvement this time in work. LIGHTNING SPEED (9) returned in good style at Tamworth last start and will be harder to beat over the extra furlong today.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Blend Of Three to win but the top five selections have undeniable claims.
