NUM TIME COMMENT
1 06:40 MURRAY HANDICAP 1800m
STORM RUNNER (3) is overdue after four straight minor placings, the latest when narrowly defeated over 2200m at this track after being prominent throughout. He has a better draw this time, and Zac Purton sticks with him. On top. BEAUTY MISSILE (7) is a 37-start maiden who finished fourth at his most recent outing over 1650m at Sha Tin All Weather. This looks like a nice race, so expect him to be right in the finish. PERFECT PAIRING (2) finished second at this track two runs back but wasn't helped by a wide gate last time over 2000m at Sha Tin, finishing 2.25 lengths back in eighth. Finds the right race this time and can turn things around, especially from a superior draw. LEATHER MASTER (12) is like most in this, doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out, finishing fourth and less than a length from the winner over 2200m at this track. Likely improver with top-3 prospects.
2 07:10 JACKSON HANDICAP 1200m
RUN RUN SMART (3) has won here, and he was in the firing line on the corner and ran a better race last start to finish a close third over 1200m at this track after missing the placings at his previous appearance. He has the pole position and is the one to beat. LOVING VIBES (6) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 1200m at this track after racing handy throughout. He can go one better in this. AMAZING KID (9) won his maiden over this course and distance last start, getting the verdict by a head. He is up 3kg but can still repeat the dose. VIGOR ELLEEGANT (10) has been freshened up since finishing seventh over 1200m at this track. Kept up to the mark with a recent Sha Tin AW trial placing. His recent trial was encouraging, and he can figure in the top 4 this time.
3 07:40 CLUB HANDICAP 1650m
ACE WAR (12) has been without a win for some time but improved last time out, finishing a nose from the winner in second at the end of 1650m at this track after being handy throughout. Zac Purton picks up the ride, and he can go one better. FORTUNATE SON (1) ran a better race last start to finish a close third over 1650m at this track after missing the placings at his previous appearance. This doesn't look as hard, so he is ready to find the winners' list. AEROINVINCIBLE (3) finished third at this track two runs back but was less effective last time over 1650m at this track, finishing 3 lengths back in sixth after being in contention on the bend. He can bounce straight back into the money. PRESTIGE RICKY (4) drew wide and ran on late to finish not that far from the winner in ninth at this course and distance. Backmarker who keeps coming. Must be respected, so include in him in all top 4 combinations.
4 08:10 JACKSON HANDICAP 1200m
ACE POWER (7) wound up strongly last time out to finish just over a length from the winner in third over 1200m at this track. He has had a quiet trial since then and will have the services of Zac Purton from a superior gate this time. On top for us. SUPERB BOY (4) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1200m at this track, finishing not far away in sixth. He has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. MEGA BONUS (6) finished less than a length from the winner in fourth last start after being prominent at the corner over 1200m at this track. Each way claims this time. FATAL BLOW (1) missed the placings two runs back then battled on well enough last start when finishing sixth over 1200m at this track. Better than recent efforts suggest so include him in all combinations.
5 08:40 THE HONG KONG CLUB CHALLENGE CUP (HANDICAP) 1650m
CALIFORNIA MOXIE (1) proved too strong last start and scored by 1.75 lengths over 1650m at this track. He likes it here and can now hold his form. He is up in weight, but is still the one to beat. QUICK CONTRIBUTION (10) is still without a local win after 10 runs. He was in the market last time out and tried hard, finishing fourth over 1650m at this track. Rates highly in this field, and with the blinkers coming off, he should be hard to hold out. STORMI (11) has been freshened since finishing eighth over 1650m at this track 4 weeks ago. His fitness levels should be good following a subsequent Sha Tin AW trial. The cheekpieces are on, and he can bounce straight back into the money here. BULL ATTITUDE (5) had an excuse 2 starts back before running on at Sha Tin last time out over 1400m. He is up to a more suitable trip this time, and with Zac Purton in the irons again, he can't be taken lightly.
6 09:10 JACKSON HANDICAP 1200m
FLYING WROTE (2) lifted strongly only to just miss when first-up last start over 1200m at this track. He has trialled up since that run 4 weeks ago, and will be spot on for this. On top. STRAIGHT TO GLORY (8) is yet to break through for his first local win in 9 runs, but wasn't far away last time when second over 1200m at Sha Tin 18 days ago. Derek Leung can secure the run of the race from the pole position, and the pair can go one better this time. LEGENDARY IMPACT (10) has not won for a long while. Last raced on December 3 when beaten 2 lengths into sixth at this track over 1200m. He has not been too far away in his recent races and is not the worst in this. VOYAGE BOSS (5) has improved in each of his 3 runs back from a spell, and he will have Zac Purton in the saddle this time. Each way value. PERIDOT (9) finished fourth over 1200m at this track when resuming last start, beaten only 1.5 lengths. Include in all top 4 combos.
7 09:45 CHATER HANDICAP 1000m
LOVE TOGETHER (9) gave away a considerable start after being checked over 1000m at this track last time before hitting the line well to finish sixth. He only needs a clear run to be the one to beat this time. Stick with him. ETERNAL FORTUNE (5) has been in the market at his last couple of runs but failed to threaten, the latest effort a modest fifth at this track over 1000m. He rates highly from a superior gate and will be hard to hold out. HORSEPOWER (2) hasn't raced since finishing fourth at Sha Tin over 1000m a month ago. He has been kept ticking over with a recent trial win at Sha Tin AW. He is overdue for another win. FIERY STEED (11) is an imported four-year-old having his first run in this area for the P F Yiu barn. Scored at his last run over 1108m at Sale nine months ago. Brought on for this with a trial win at Sha Tin AW, so he is not to be underestimated, especially with the advantage of the pole position.
8 10:15 CONNAUGHT HANDICAP 1200m
PERFECT GENERAL (10) turned in a solid performance when fourth in his first run in this grade last start over 1200m at this track, finishing just 3 lengths off the winner. That followed a good first-up win at this track. He has a good gate and should be right in the finish again. SPICY GOLD (2) settled well back before making steady ground in the straight, last start to finish fifth, beaten a neck, over this journey at this track. Sure to prove hard to beat again. TRIUMPHANT MORE (1) was unwanted in betting last time but scored by nearly a length over 1200m at this track. If the pace is again genuine, then he can have the last say. WINGS OF WAR (3) finished eighth at this track and distance at his last appearance three months ago. He comes to hand quickly, and his trial form is good. Check the market moves.
9 10:50 DES VOEUX HANDICAP 1650m
CORLEONE (7) has resumed from his spell much stronger this season, and he was a determined winner last time at this track, scoring by a nose over this distance. He steps up in class for this, but the hat-trick beckons, especially with 6.5kg less to carry. KING LOTUS (3) was prominent from the outset when finishing runner-up over 1650m at this track last time out 6 weeks ago. Lyle Hewitson, who has scored on him twice, retains the mount. Another honest effort is on the cards. A AMERIC TE SPECSO (1) turned in a fine effort to score by almost a length at this course and distance last start in a much improved run. He cops a tougher gate, but he is always a top 4 chance at this level. FIVEFORTWO (8) did a great job to score by nearly a length here over this distance when first-up from a layoff last start. He is back up in class, but still has to be respected.
