OWN THE DREAM 2026 MAIDEN 1000m
Tricky one to map with a number of first starters but over this trip there is good speed anticipated. SUNSET SESSION (1) will find this a fair bit easier than last time at Ascot, also finding the 1200m a bridge too far as a $5 chance when dropping out to finish last. The fresh run over this route was very good and he can bounce back. Very wary of SHARPASSA (10) with Pike booked. She's a filly by Sessions who has won 3 trials leading in. Tricky draw but you get the right man aboard which is a strong lead. DREAMLORD (4) is a gelding by Playing God on debut with Chris Parnham booked. He looked good winning a recent trial and has to be respected. MISS FINKMEYER (5) struggled last time at Ascot over 1200m but the fresh run at Albany was solid for an each-way chance. BAMBINO CHINO (7) is a rough hope if left alone in front. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sunset Session to win. |

CUPRUM DISTILLERY HANDICAP 1000m
Queen Of Hawks, Magic Belle and Hezangelic to match motors but there will be other pressure. MAI ALOHA (5) resumes and creates plenty of interest. She didn't fire in two runs last time in but they were both on rain-affected tracks over the Winter season which can be excused. She looked very sharp winning a recent trial by nearly three lengths and Pike goes aboard for the top Williams yard. QUEEN OF HAWKS (4) was an easy winner when last seen at Narrogin, scoring by 2.5 lengths. This is harder but she's speedy and should give a good sight again. MANTUA (1) struggles to win but the drop back to 1000m where all three wins have come looks a clear positive. He's going okay and has each-way claims. IF I DIN HAVADIME (8) tried hard first up over this route and should be better for it. She can be poking through late. HEZANGELIC (2) has speed and can give a sight back in trip. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mai Aloha to win. |

MGIB HANDICAP 2219m
Moderate pace from Lyn's Star taking it up with Iraychoux and Electric Bec on her back. This is a huge drop in class for WAR MATTERS (2) who ran an excellent race at $101 in a BM66+ at Ascot when last seen, making good ground from back in the field to be beaten 1.75 lengths. A Class 1 here looks exceptional placement having run well in numerous stronger affairs. IRAYCHOUX (1) proved too strong for ELECTRIC BEC (3) when they clashed here on December 18. Iraychoux started $3.40 there and won by just under a length. Electric Bec has since won her maiden too and both have claims. LEAD BY EXAMPLE (8) is stuck on 1 win from 29 starts but could sneak a placing while MAXIMUM IMPACT (9) is another stuck on 1 win (from 58) but could give some cheek with 52kg after the claim. SUGGESTED PLAY: War Matters to win. |

GREENFIELDS LODGE AT MAGIC MILLIONS MAIDEN 1400m
Genuine tempo with Greyt Ruby leading the way. I'M ODETTE (13) ran a solid race on debut at Ascot over 1200m, drawing wide and running on well for a 3-length defeat. She'll be better for that experience and the rise to 1400m looks ideal in what should be a softer maiden. Pike sticks and while she draws wide again, expect her to be charging late. PARTAY (4) ran well on debut at Pinjarra for third, albeit beaten 4.6 lengths. Up to 1400m should suit nicely for him and he could have map advantages over I'm Odette. HEAVENLY RAPTURE (11) was okay fresh at Ascot and should be better for it up in trip. EXTREME RULER (2) has had a few chances but was good here last time and has claims. LATORIO (7) next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: I'm Odette to win. |

SWAN DRAUGHT HANDICAP 1690m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Anna's Boy. SHAMILIAN MISS (2) is a consistent sort who broke through for her second career win last start at Pinjarra, getting the upper hand late to win narrowly as favourite. That was in a Class 3 and she's still eligible for another one here, hopefully getting favours from the inside gate. SECRECY (4) was off a very long spell fresh here and ran a good race all things considered, fading late to finish third, beaten 1.5 lengths. He can only improve off that and draws well. ROUNDABOUT GLORY (3) is knocking on the door with back-to-back minor placings, beaten a nose at Pinjarra last time out behind Shamilian Miss. He meets that horse slightly better off now and has claims to turn the tables. MUDDY WATERS (1) struggled last time but his prior form had him right in the mix. FOREVER DREAMING (5) next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Shamilian Miss to win. |

TABTOUCH SHARE MY BET HANDICAP 1100m
Solid tempo anticipated with Marines Cry taking charge. WHY SHE STAYED (7) goes on top. The maiden win here over 1000m two starts back was very strong before a solid effort in a better race at Ascot when midfield. Back to a Class 1 here and drawn well, she can bounce back to winning ways. QUEEN ARIA (3) resumes. She got over more ground last time in but showed good ability, winning her maiden over a mile at Northam before the break. One trial leading in was okay but Pike sticks with her from that hitout which is worth plenty. QUICK AS SILVER (4) is struggling to crack that elusive second victory but is going fairly well, not beaten far at Narrogin last time. He's an each-way player. GLOBAL TRIP (1) resumes for a new yard. His last campaign was interesting but his best is good enough to figure. FIREY PANZ (10) got home well in a similar race last time and has claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Why She Stayed to win. |

BUNBURY CUP ON SALE NOW HANDICAP 1200m
A small field that lacks a pacemaker. With the short-priced favourite scratched, the final event looks wide open. The leaning is to SURF PATROL (2) who was outclassed first up in a tougher race at Ascot, albeit he was awful there when beaten 20 lengths. He's usually consistent, look for a much-improved run. RIVER ANGEL (8) perhaps didn't run out 1500m last time. Her form prior over 1200-1400m was good and she should give a good sight with the light weight. STATE OF FURY (6) resumes. She'll want a bit more ground but looked to trial quite well recently and can be staying on strongly late. JUST GIFTED (7) resumes for a new yard having gone to the paddock a winner at York. This will be a good test but she's shown ability behind some talented types in the past. SUGGESTED PLAY: Surf Patrol to win. |
