NUM TIME COMMENT
1 02:20 VINNIE @ YARRAMAN PARK HANDICAP 1400m
Solid tempo anticipated with Our Huntress leading the way. Many of these are knocking on the door, but it is OUR HUNTRESS (2) that looks most likely to break through. Led from barrier rise and dug deep when pressured but was narrowly denied last start over 1250m at Canterbury. McDonald hops aboard ahead of three Waller runners which is a strong lead. ERIN JO (5) impressed on debut but was less effective last time over this distance at Randwick when she got too far out of her ground from a wide gate. Should race a lot closer today and is capable of turning things around. Waller's best chance is MISS LOLA (3) who just went under in a thriller over 1250m at Canterbury last start. Placed at all three runs here and should give a good account again. CURADO (1) is going well at the provincials and looks good enough to transition to town. HERMIONE PRANCER (6) was okay first-up and strips fitter for this.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Our Huntress a nice bet to open the day.
2 02:55 JACQUINOT FIRST YEARLINGS 2026 @ WIDDEN PLATE 1200m
Moderate tempo headed by Miss Supernova. MISS SUPERNOVA (14) disappointed on debut then had a six-week let-up and improved out of sight last start, charging home late to miss by a whisker over this distance at Randwick. Maps beautifully and will be tough to hold out. MANUKAU (6) started at a short quote but found one better when returning from a 37-week break over 1300m at Hawkesbury last time out. Will race handy from a good gate and with the run under the belt is going to be right in the finish. The interesting runner is VERLANDER (2) whose only appearance to date was in Switzerland's Todman Stakes in March 2024. Now a gelding and looked sharp winning a Rosehill trial recently. Could easily blow them away. LIPSTICK (12) returns from an eight-month spell and is a new arrival in the Waller stable. Showed enough in three runs to date to suggest she will be competitive. Stablemate NANDINA (15) is a debutante by So You Think from top race mare Catkins. Has trialled six times so she should know what it is all about.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Like Miss Supernova but the betting may bring others under notice.
3 03:30 OLE KIRK YEARLINGS HANDICAP 1200m
Moderate pace with Ellipsis taking up the running ahead of Infusion and Good Hotspur. ELLIPSIS (5) recorded her sixth top three finish from seven starts when she held on well for third in a BM78 over this distance at Randwick Saturday week ago. Only goes up 2kgs in what looks a far easier assignment. Will race handy and prove very tough to overcome. IL PASSERO (8) has run a couple of similar races to launch this prep, coming from well off the speed on straightening then quickening nicely to fill a minor placing. Will enjoy sitting off an anticipated strong tempo here - watch for him late. BEREZKA (4) returns from a 20-week spell. Closed last prep with a couple of fine efforts in better races than this. Two recent trials should have her forward enough to run a big race. This is a touch short for SISTER DAAE (6) but while fresh she is capable of a bold showing. Market watch on KOMODO DRAGON (2) who is smart enough to mix it with these but does come off a 14-month lay-off.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Ellipsis to win.
4 04:05 SPELLING AT COOLMORE MT WHITE HANDICAP 1000m
The Escape and Straand Beauty should set a strong clip. STRAAND BEAUTY (1) showed great pace to lead then wouldn't lie down but was eventually swamped when resuming over this distance at Randwick on Boxing Day. Beaten less than a length on that occasion so there doesn't need to be great deal of improvement for him to be taking this out. DESTRUCTIVE DIVA (8) is racing well around the Capital and Riverina, the latest offering a fast-finishing third over today's journey in a BM65 at Canberra. Tougher here but she plummets in the weights and at a big price looks an appealing each-way bet. RUNRANIRUN (4) has led all the way for two easy victories from as many starts this prep, both over five furlongs. Needs to raise the bar now but a mare in form is worth following. SMILING PROPHET (6) has four top three finishes from as many runs at this trip, the latest a win when resuming in open company two back at Muswellbrook. Genuine contender. ACTION KING (3) hasn't won for a while but his record at 1000m is hard to knock.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Straand Beauty looks one of the better bets on the card.
5 04:40 ASAHI SUPER DRY HANDICAP 1600m
Lugarno to take charge ahead of Buckenara at a solid tempo. SISU SPIRIT (7) progressed nicely last start at the second outing this prep, charging home late to be beaten under a length over 1550m at Canterbury. Lightly raced four-year-old who should be peaking now. Irish import MAN OF WORTH (4) made his fourth Australian appearance on Boxing Day at Randwick where he destroyed a maiden field over the mile. McDonald takes over - he can win again with the confidence soaring. LUGARNO (10) showed pace but tired at the end of the Randwick mile in a Midway won by The Mona Lisa recently. That tough run will tighten him right up. Sure to prove tough to catch. NOMORENIGHTSHIFT (9) hasn't been all that far away in two runs this time in work. Steps out beyond 1400m for the first time but he finds the line in a way that suggests he will run this right out. Consistent gelding MIRRA IMPACT (2) just missed at Canterbury last time and won't find this any harder.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Sisu Spirit each-way or 1 x 2.
6 05:15 TAB HANDICAP 1600m
Strong tempo assured from Outta Line and Heaven Bound leading the charge. HEAVEN BOUND (2) led all the way to win first-up at Hawkesbury then gave a great sight in the Group 3 Belle Of The Turf at Gosford last start, beaten just 2.5 lengths. Very fit mare who won't find this chasing pack nearly as daunting. Looks outstanding value at double-figure odds. Waterhouse/Bott's unbeaten OUTTA LINE (6) looks the danger after an effortless first-up win over 1400m at Kembla. Facing a far stiffer test today but there is a fair way to go before they reach the bottom of her. O CARA MIA (11) has returned in fine fettle this prep, beaten narrowly over 1550m at Canterbury at her latest outing. Good miler who is a definite chance down in the weights. COVERT THINKING (3) has won three from four at this distance. Cherry ripe after two runs back from a spell and comes back to midweek company. EMBALLEE (9) is racing well and cannot be overlooked with McDonald taking this mount for the first time.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Heaven Bound each-way.
7 05:50 FIRST HITOTSU YEARLINGS HANDICAP 1400m
Reasonable tempo with Copacabana probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. MISSILE SEEKER (4) picked up a Rosehill Midway at nice odds two back then blew the start which put paid to his chances at Randwick last time. Big chance in this company if he decides to put it all together. HOW MUCH BETTER (12) added to his run of minor placings when edged out over 1550m at Canterbury last time out. Back in trip but his seven-furlong stats read well. Maps nicely and will prove tough to hold out. COPACABANA (13) was 29 days between runs which may explain his meek final furlong over 1550m at Canterbury recently. Yet to miss the frame in four runs over 1400m. Better for that last run and can definitely turn things around. HOUSE OF CARDS (9) found 1200m a bit slick at Canterbury last time. Placed three from three here at this distance and he will strip fitter at the third run back from a spell. ROUSSILLON (7) impressed here at this trip last start when coming off a seven-week break for the new stable. Can improve enough to give this a shake.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Missile Seeker each-way at massive odds.
