NUM TIME COMMENT
1 02:20 JORDAN OGLESBY MAIDEN 1403m
Expecting Great Reception to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. CANTILEVER (1) keeps knocking on the door and looks ready to break through. Returned fresh here recently and wasn’t far away after working into the clear late. Strips fitter and gets every chance to shed the maiden tag. ACOUSTIC BUBBLES (8) debuted in town and wasn’t disgraced against stronger opposition. This is easier and the run will have brought her right on. Expecting sharp improvement over the longer trip. BELVEDERE ROCK (2) closed off stylishly when resuming at Carnarvon. Has plenty of upside and can be right there at the business end. TORQUE OF WAR (3) has struggled to threaten of late but there's plenty of subsequent winners around him. Strips rock-hard fit and is in the mix. GREAT RECEPTION (6) showed pace on debut and draws to push forward again. If he finds the front uncontested, he could take catching.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Cantilever to win.
2 02:50 MARK HOUSTON MAIDEN 1203m
Strong pace from Il Bello Beals and Big Bopper matching motors with Dixie Princess close at hand. HARD SOLO (11) was last seen in the G2 Karrakatta Plate where she found it a touch hot, but her earlier form stacked up well. A recent trial should have her forward enough. Could simply outclass them. BUSY FINGERS (2) showed great signs in his debut prep, including a close placing at Albany. Back from a good break with two solid trials under the belt and drawn to get the run of the race. Major player. CHINESE DENTIST (4) hit the line nicely when resuming here and will be fitter for that. Genuine chance if he gets tempo. SHE’SATROOPER (10) stuck on solidly into midfield when resuming off a long break here. Can improve sharply with blinkers going on. BIG BOPPER (3) showed early dash fresh and can give cheek again if he crosses cleanly.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Hard Solo to win.
3 03:26 SHANNON DILLON HANDICAP 1403m
Moderate tempo expected with Keytrade likely to find the front over Sanabeau and Miff Muffered Moof. MASTER ALEX (2) was snagged back from a wide gate when resuming and hit the line full of running for third over a shorter trip. Strips fitter, drawn better, and looks perfectly placed to get the job done. NEVER SOBER (7) has found his rhythm again, racing up on speed and sticking on well. Another honest effort here last time and he won’t need to lift much to feature. KEYTRADE (1) led them up before being collared late last start. Forgive run, he’s better than that and the claim helps offset the weight. Can bounce back. BENTLEY BEAU (6) found the line well fresh and should be fitter for that. Capable of running on into the minors. PULL THE TRIGGER (3) hasn’t shown his best lately but loves it here and could surprise if things fall into place.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Master Alex to win.
4 03:51 KELLY ANN HENDERSON HANDICAP 1103m
A solid tempo is on the cards with Fuzzybox and Twelveunder pushing for the lead ahead of Weapons Hot and Clever Combat. DE GRANDHOMME (1) hit the line with purpose fresh at Belmont and that run will have topped him off beautifully. Steps up in trip which looks ideal and he maps to get every chance in a race lacking depth. STRYKER’S GAL (3) resumes and is more than capable on her day. Has shown glimpses of ability and the booking of Turner catches the eye. Can run a bold race fresh. PLAYFUL STAR (9) hasn’t been landing blows recently but gets in light and draws to stalk the speed. Could surprise. WEAPONS HOT (4) led them a merry dance at Moora and although this is tougher he deserves another shot. CLEVER COMBAT (7) ran well first-up and should only improve with the outing. Keeping safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: De Grandhomme to win.
5 04:21 TONYA MORRISON HANDICAP 1203m
Prince Ragnar and Bigdayonit possess good early speed. PRINCE RAGNAR (3) is bursting to win and this looks his moment. Has placed in all but one run this prep and went down narrowly here last time after giving his all. Loves racing at this track and the claim gets him in beautifully at the weights. Everything points to him going one better. BIGDAYONIT (6) is racing much better than it reads on paper. Stuck on well at Belmont over further and now drops back to a trip that suits. Maps kindly and looks a genuine threat. SNIPPY WHICH (2) flashed home to grab Prince Ragnar last time and clearly enjoys this circuit. Could be an awkward draw for him but hard to leave out given his strong finish. THEHORSEMAN (4) returned in top order with a dominant display here. Slight query second up but must be respected. BE SEATED (5) resumes and always tries hard. Worth keeping in mind for multiples.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Prince Ragnar to win.
6 04:55 GREAT WESTERN INSURANCE BROKERS LADIES DAY SPRINT 1203m
Genuine tempo from Luckee Floran leading Spirit Man. Tough race with many chances. ONEMORETWOMANY (2) showed real fight fresh when holding a forward spot and only fading late. Fitter for that and finds an easier race this time. Draw makes things tricky but with a clean getaway he can take catching. Looks ready to peak. DIVINE INANNA (5) hit her straps third up with a stylish win here, cruising past them with plenty in hand. Carries a bit more weight but clearly trending the right way. Hard to knock and rates a major hope again. LOVA SESSION (3) rarely runs poorly and strips fitter second up after a solid return in stronger company. With the claim and a touch of luck in running, she’s a threat. SURE NO SOMETHING (1) is a local marvel who loves this track and always gives his all. Big weight but class will carry him close. COLLECTIVE (4) is another track specialist resuming and must be included.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Slight lean to Onemoretwomany.
7 05:28 THE BIG FREEZE IN THE VALLEY HANDICAP 1403m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Pat's Last Bang leading the way. BATTLE ON BATTLER (3) produced a stunning turnaround last start, storming home from off the speed to win with a bit in hand. Confidence will be sky-high and while the weights rise, he looks to have more to give. Can go back-to-back. PAT’S LAST BANG (8) gave a bold sight in that same race and lost little in defeat. Tough, genuine and rock fit, she’ll look to control things again and will take plenty of catching if left alone up front. SHAKERATO (11) was solid fresh then below his best last start, but should be nearing his peak now. Expect a sharper showing. A LOT OF CLASS (6) should appreciate extra ground and will be hitting the line hard late if tempo suits. BLITZ (7) keeps racing honestly and with the claim again, he can sneak into the finish.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Battle On Battler can win again.
