GREEN LIGHT INSURANCE BROKERS 1400m
Pace looks sure to be genuine with Piccola Bellezza and Sweet Talkin Gal matching motors, closely followed by Fracas. I'M QUINN (2) was a well-beaten third on debut in a 5-horse field, but would have taken a lot of improvement from that experience. Craig Grylls replacing an apprentice is a positive change, and from a good draw, he will be among the hardest to beat. SWEET TALKIN GAL (13) was put aside after finishing second by a neck on debut as a juvenile. She cruised home to win a recent Te Rapa trial and will be ready to rumble fresh up. FRACAS (1) has been thereabouts in all of his 5 career starts, and was fourth at Tauranga 11 days ago. He can take a trail from the pole position, and should be right in the fight at the business end of this even contest. YAMATO SATONA (10) won his latest trial very well on this track, which is a big advantage. His stable is in form, so don't risk him. SUGGESTED PLAY: In an even field, Sweet Talkin Gal can be a safe each-way bet. |

LANCE LAWSON 1215m
In a small field either Lubeck or Chatelle Rose will find the front. CREAM TART (7) won her maiden as a juvenile courtesy of a nice Craig Grylls ride, and was immediately put aside to mature. She resumes here with a couple of jumpouts under her belt and looks to have the scope to make her way through the grades over the coming months. On top. LUBECK (8) won a nice race on debut as a juvenile and then was runner-up as a short-priced favourite at Te Rapa before having a break. She was recently close up in a trial on this track, which augurs well for her return. Watch the market moves. TO CAP IT ALL (4) was a game fifth in the G3 Gold Trail Stakes just over 5 weeks ago at Ellerslie. The form from that race has since been franked, and this filly is good enough to take out a race like this. CHATELLE ROSE (6) got the job done on debut as favourite, and still had some improvement left in her that day. Hard to beat again. WYNDSTORM (3) strips fitter and is not the worst at odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lubeck is a solid each-way chance in this. |

ROTORUA RACECOURSE' RACE FOR THE LADIES 1215m
La Dulcin'ee should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep her honest. ZIGGY STARDUST (11) found the line with purpose fresh up at Trentham just over 3 weeks ago, finishing fourth. She has a superior gate this time and is expected to improve quickly second up. Hard to beat. DUBAI ROCKIN (2) made a bright start to his career before finishing well back in a good field at Te Rapa in April. He resumes with 2 tune-up trials under his belt, and having Craig Grylls in the saddle is an added bonus. Each way. WEE THISTLE (14) won fresh up at Matamata and had more left in her. Go again. PAX MUNDI (9) resumes from a spell and, with the aid of a 3kg claim, he is expected to be right in the finish. SCOUSER (10) has the blinkers off for her return to the track. She is capable on her day, and the market will be an important guide. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ziggy Stardust each way value. |

ARAWA PARK HOTEL ROTORUA 1400m
Solid tempo headed by Beetlegeuse and Sweetazme. LITTERAL (9) broke through for a deserved maiden in at Matamata a month ago, scoring by a length on a heavy track. The extra 200m here is no problem, and she can kick on with the job now. SICILLIAN (10) won her maiden second up, and then was tested in G3 company before having a spell. She will definitely be one to watch in this field, especially if the money comes for her. SWEETAZME (18) is a promising 5-year-old trained on the course, which is a big plus. Include. PRINCIPLED (7) will strip fitter second up after a solid effort when resuming 4 weeks ago. A wide will actually be a bonus today, and he can figure in the top 4. JUST A TIPPLE (4) ran a much better race when runner-up at Matamata 8 days ago. He has a fitness edge and could take some pegging back again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sweetazme each way claims. |

THE ROTORUA CLUB 1950m
Solid tempo likely from Glorafilia and Ark Kay. DANCE FOR HER (6) finished ninth on an unsuitable holding track over 1600m at Te Rapa two weeks ago. The key here is the step up to 1950m, and with the right run, she can have the last say. Watch for her late GLORAFILIA (9) finished a solid fifth over 2000m at Cambridge on the poly track last start, and she was fourth there before that. She will be happy to be back on a turf surface, and with a gear change, she is ready to put her best hoof forward in this. ARK KAY (3) broke his maiden when resuming over 1600m at Te Aroha, getting the job done by a head. He is a lot stronger this season and has the advantage of being trained on the track. Stick with him on an each-way basis. WITH GRACE (13) found the track too heavy at Otaki just over 2 weeks ago after winning her maiden at Taupo before that. She is worth another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ark Kay could be at some each-way value. |

STAPHANOS CLASSIC 1950m
Pace a scorcher, headed by Quick Fire, Opera Belle and Enright, closely followed by Electric Time and Jack In The Box. GIGI (7) showed improvement last time, finishing a game third over 1600m at Te Rapa after being prominent at the bend. There is more depth to this field, but he is still capable of another top 3 finish. VAL DI ZOLDO (1) will find this easier than her last run over 1600m at Te Rapa second up from a spell. She will relish getting out to a middle distance and should be close to her peak fitness. Don't drop her. QUICK FIRE (6) is in top form and can figure in the first-four placings here. CANHEROC (4) is invariably hitting the line and is seasoned enough to cope with a heavy track here. A wide draw will be in his favour, and if he makes his run early, he could out-stay this lot. WHAT A CHARMA (8) won't lack fitness, and because of that, he is a must for all combinations. SUGGESTED PLAY: Val Di Zoldo at some each-way value. |

SWEYNESSE STAKES 1215m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Midnight Edition leading the way. MIDNIGHT EDITION (7) will have a fitness edge over some of his main rivals, after winning fresh up at Te Rapa, and then finishing runner-up there 15 days ago by less than a length. She is likely to work across to try and find a handy spot from a wide gate, and with the right trip, he can take this out. TWAIN (2) is an up-and-coming sprinter who was close up on the G2 Foxbridge Plate in his penultimate start, before finishing second at Te Rapa last time out. He is perfectly drawn and is sure to be challenging in the run home. GRAIL SEEKER (9) is a 2-time G1 winner ready to hit form. Don't risk her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Midnight Edition will be hard to hold out. |

CAMPBELL INFRASTRUCTURE 1400m
El Arish can work over from a wide alley to lead. TESTWIN (9) has won both of his starts back from a spell at BM65 level in emphatic fashion. He will have no trouble stepping up to 1400m, and is on target to complete a deserved hat-trick of wins. SMART LOVE (14) won her last start before a spell, and then won fresh up at Te Rapa 4 weeks ago. She is a mare going places, and this grade won't hold her for long. Stick with her. EL VIENTO (4) was very fresh when resuming at Ellerslie just over 5 weeks ago, and though he was beaten, he was not that far off the winner. The form of that race has since been franked, and a form reversal can be expected. Each way value. ACCIDENTAL TOURIST (1) will be peaking third up and has the advantage of a 4kg claim. He won his only start on this track, which is important, and with the right run, he can return to some decent form again. BIG WAVE (7) backed up a big maiden win here with an even better performance to score at Ellerslie just over 3 weeks ago. He cops another nasty gate, but go again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Testwin to take the next step and complete a hat-trick of wins. |
