4RACING WELCOMES YOU MAIDEN PLATE 1400m
GONNA CATCH YOU (2) is an unraced son of Vercingetorix from the Mike and Mathew de Kock stable with Craig Zackey booked to ride. If not in need of the outing, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. NEVER NEVER LAND (5) produced an encouraging debut effort over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. He would have gained from the experience and should like the extra 200m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive. AMANDLA NGAWETHU (1) has run fair races in his last two starts have been fair. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last outing has come out and won since. He will be at peak fitness and can place. MY LUCKY CHARM (4) is a three-year-old colt by on debut. Keep safe in this field and use the market is the guide. |

ALLIED STEELRODE CHARITY MILE 1 NOVEMBER MR 70 HANDICAP 1400m
SUNSHINE DAY (2) ran on from last when finishing second of nine over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. She finished second in her only previous course and distance run. She drops in class and she can go one better. COMMANDER OF ALL (6) has fair recent form lines to his name. He lost a length leaving the start last time and stayed on well to finish fourth. Has each-way claims. PRIZED PLATINUM (4) is better than his last start run would suggest as the jockey reported something to be amiss in the running. He steps up to 1400m which may suit him well. On best form shown, he should be finishing in the money. PARIS FUN (3) was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag over this course and distance last start. She takes on stronger rivals but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand. |

RACING TODAY MR 86 HANDICAP 1400m
SOHO HEARTTHROB (7) was doing his best work late when third over this distance at Turffontein last time. Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle and he is the horse to beat. OPEN HIGHWAY (3) has good recent form lines to his credit. He has won twice, finished second once and third twice from seven starts over this distance. He merits healthy respect. FULLY LOADED (2) finished in the money fresh-up at Turffontein Inside then could only manage to finish sixth last time out over 1200m at this track. Fitter and deserves another chance. SUTHERLAND (5) has not appeared since he finished fifth over 1450m at Turffontein Inside. Fresh-up can place. |

BETWAY SUMMER CUP 29 NOVEMBER FM 64 HANDICAP 1600m
WESTERN WISHES (1) quickened up well to win her last start over 1160m at Turffontein. She would have come on from the outing and should like the rise to 1600m. She gets the services of the 4kg claiming apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can follow up with another victory. GOLDEN ASPEN (3) was disappointing over 1450m last time. Her penultimate run when third over 1400m on this course was encouraging. Trent Mayhew steps back into the saddle and the combination can go close in this field. MATTIAZO (2) won her maiden over this course and distance last start, scoring by a long neck. Shaping up nicely and she should be fighting out the finish. SHEETS AND GOGGLES (5) finished fifth of nine over 1450m at this track last start. Likely improver with top-three claims. |

FOR HOSPITALITY BOOKINGS CALL 011 681 1796 MR 78 HANDICAP 1800m
ZIP CODE (1) was not disgraced when second over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He raced from a handy position, but found one too good on the day. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He returns to Handicap Company and can go one better. UNSOLVED RIDDLE (3) stayed on well when third over 1600m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. Gavin Lerena retains the ride, and he should be involved at the finish. FUTUREWOLFF (4) won a good race over this course and distance last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Raymond Danielson sticks with the ride and the combination merit healthy respect. WAR REPORTER (7) finished sixth last time out over 1600m at this track. Capable of a much better performance and can place. |

#YOUCANBETONUS! MR 75 HANDICAP 2400m
DAMOVA (2) ran a good race when second over 2850m at Turffontein last time. She raced from a handy position but found one too good on the day. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She won her only attempt over this course and distance, may be the one to side with. ROYAL MAZARIN (1) produced a typical second run after a rest last time. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from nine starts over this course and distance. He will be cherry-ripe and is a solid each-way prospect. NUCLEAR FORCE (5) returns from a spell which would have done him the world of good. Two of his four career victories have come over this distance. If not in need of the run, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest. ROYAL MAZARIN (3) did well to place when resuming from a spell at this track two runs but raced below expectations last time over 2850m at Turffontein Standside, finishing sixth. Well placed and can finish in the top-three. |

RACING240 MR 66 HANDICAP 2000m
STOP THE TRAFFIC (2) has good recent form lines to his credit. He stayed on well when third over this course and distance last time. The 5yo gelding drops back in class and if this run has not come too soon, he can notch up his third-career victory. STEP INTO IT (1) made the expected natural improvement when winning his maiden over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw. He takes on stronger rivals but he should love the rise to 2000m and has plenty of scope. FLAG BEARER (3) is better than his last start run over 1600m on the straight course would suggest. On best form shown he may be hard to peg back. BOB LEE SWAGGER (6) returns from a 16-week spell. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this distance. If not in need of the run he should give a good account of himself. |

NEXT VAAL RACEMEETING THURSDAY 04 SEPTEMBER MIDDLE STAKES 2000m
SILENT WAR (3) is better than his last start run over 1450m would suggest. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him when it matters most. HAWKBILL (2) should have finished closer last time as the saddle slipped in the running. It is encouraging that Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle and he is a leading chance. KING'S EXPRESS (1) was squeezed leaving the start last time, but stayed on well to finish second. Has each-way claims. MOUNT DARWIN (4) was running on when second over 1600m on the Classic course last time. He is having his peak run today and should be fighting out the finish. |
