NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:52 Ladbrokes Odds Surge Maiden Handicap 1300m
Solid tempo with Extremely Frilly possessing enough dash to find the front. ONLY ONE LOOK (7) resumes from a break after running a few decent races last time here. Will get back in his races so needs some speed on but is certainly capable of winning. GEE UP (1) got back to last first up and that made the job far too tough. His best effort was when leading so could change tactics here. RUM RUNNER (3) has moved stables and had a freshen up. Does get a nice run from the draw. Some decent form emanates from the maidens he's been in. CHECK ONE TWO (8) is not drawn the best but does have some gate speed. EXTREMELY FRILLY (2) has placed on many occasions. Probably best chance again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Not a strong race but Only One Look can go fresh.
2 01:27 Book for Classic Day Sat 27th 0 - 55 Handicap 1300m
Expecting Chalkley to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint trip. ROTHWEILER (2) drops back off a much harder race. He went best when sitting up on the speed. Might be able to get over quickly even coming back in journey. MADAM BORODINA (6) will be fitter for having two runs from a spell. She is rarely far away and is backing up fairly sharply. RICH DIVINITY (1) went so much better when last on the track. He enjoyed getting to this journey. Is ready to go now. CHALKLEY (4) has raced in some weaker races of late but the Eagle Farm Battle Of The Bush Final was more than acceptable. SANTORINI SUMMER (3) has a decent record overall. Is rock hard fit and backing up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Rothweiler finds an easier race.
3 02:04 Leading Trainer 2025 Clinton Taylor BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1300m
Expecting Chickerartie to take up the running with Moon Over Matilda and Turn Bird close at hand. BETTER THAN WORDS (6) has raced in a lot harder races than this. She got too far back when resuming and this slightly longer race will help. Does get right down in the weights as well. THE BRILL BUILDING (5) had a poor barrier last outing so this is so much better. His form before that was relevant here. TURN BIRD (1) is always around the money. He will be sitting up near the speed most of the way. Is also getting back to the right trip for him. OUTBACK BANDIT (4) struggled in a tougher race last outing. He is capable of bouncing back. DEALING'S DONE (3) does like racing at home. He can place again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Better Than Words is a bet. Turn Bird as well.
4 02:42 Leading Jockey 2025 Ashley But Class 3 Handicap 1560m
Good pace with Raetihi, Ceasar and General Hippo prominent. MAGIC GAME (6) raced back in the small field at Rockhampton last time and couldn't make up the ground. She was fancied in that event and so if able to sit closer here, has to be a good chance to produce more. GENERAL HIPPO (4) is one who would enjoy it if the track improves. He can be a bit up and down but some important gear changes bring him in here. CEASAR (3) will benefit from that run at Cairns. On breeding alone he will want the longer race. RAETIHI (2) does need to show more but some older Victorian form wins here. SMOOTH TORQUE (5) would be a place hope on her best but does have to show it.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Magic Game is the play.
5 03:17 Leading apprentice 2025 McKenzie Apel BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1100m
Woodstock Rock to take charge ahead of The Krone at a solid tempo. WOODSTOCK ROCK (1) is easy to fancy on his form and is well set up again. He hasn't run a bad race to date and first up showed no signs of that diminishing by leading and drawing away. Up in the weights but going so well. UNCUT GEM (4) was a little plain last outing but good first up. She was thought good enough to contest black type races last campaign. RAVENITE (11) came from midfield to win last month. This is his best distance. AMBERINGER (8) has needed racing and might be ready now. This race will suit her more. ANDIRON (7) made up nice ground resuming. Does go her best at this very track.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Woodstock Rock the best.
6 03:57 Horse of the Year Booming Lad OPEN Handicap 1200m
Expecting Poet's Day to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. BRASCO (8) ran a lot of good races when last in work so would only need to bring that again to be competitive. He can take a run to be ready but on the limit will help. POET'S DAY (6) is another ready to go on a course he loves. Will handle any surface and be racing up the front most of the way. GO GETABOY (1) went a lot further back than he normally does a month ago. Does have the weight to carry but is a 13-time winner. THISLAND IS MYLAND (3) could be one to do more now. He was just a length back last week. Would love some rain. HEAD HONCHO (9) is not helped at the barriers. His best form is solid though.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Brasco and Poet's Day.
7 04:34 Racing Again Thurs 4th September BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1800m
Genuine tempo with Vancouver Bay to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. MORDECAI (2) clearly found getting a long way back last month too hard to overcome. He has run a lot of decent races at this track without a win. A nice speed would help and he has some changed up gear as well. GREGARIOUS (1) only missed by a nose over the 2000m. Is back that furlong today but doubt that will have much of an impact. EL OF A SENORITA (4) has not put too many hooves wrong here. Getting back up in journey was probably what she needed. CARACRISTI (9) was OK last time but better in winning the run prior. Can rebound in this. LATIN LOVE (10) had a sharp drop in distance at Yeppoon so this is more suitable.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Mordecai to get a win here finally. El Of A Senorita some value.
