PLATINUM LOGISTICS HANDICAP 1000m
Star Hostess is the likely leader at a strong tempo. FIRE THE GUARD (2) stepped up in trip last start and bolted in, scoring by 3.3L as the race favourite. Back in trip today, though he has performed well over the short course in the past. Shouldn't be too far off in the run and looks the one to beat. STAR HOSTESS (7) is ticking along nicely without winning, sitting up on the speed throughout and was only caught late over 1100m here last start. Drawn to find the front again this time and if he'll be tough to run down. TORQUED UP (1) hasn't been far away since winning at Carnarvon back in June, finishing 1L off the winner at Roebourne most recently. Back to 1000m today is the query, but he's well-placed in this grade and the 3kg claim comes in handy. SHASFA (6) is better than she showed last start at Port Hedland and can bounce back dropping in trip. LIGHTNING GOLD (5) is next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Fire The Guard on top in the opener. |

YOUGAWALLA PASTORAL HANDICAP 1100m
Universal Playboy is expected to lead at a slick tempo. UNIVERSAL PLAYBOY (2) made it back-to-back wins with a 0.5L all-the-way victory over this course and distance last time out. He jumped the favourite there from a similar setup and was just too good. The form out of that has worked out well and while he does rise in weight, he looks well placed to score again. OCEAN OUTLAW (7) has dipped in his past couple of performances, jumping favourite last start and finishing 2.8L off the winner. Drawn to sit closer this time however and the 3kg claim of Webster is a big tick. Can land close to the speed and return to form. FAMEUX (1) hasn't been far away since winning at Marble Bar three back and is knocking on the door. Back to an easier grade today, but he shouldn't be too far off the speed and can be in the finish again. CITY OF SIN (6) got the job done in easier company last start and has claims. REQUISITION (4) is worth including with the aid of an inside barrier. SUGGESTED PLAY: Universal Playboy can make it three on-end. |

KIMBERLEY QUARRIES HANDICAP 1435m
Pace genuine with Smart Shadow and Spice Is Right pressing hard closely followed by The Top Bar and Schuhbeck. SPICE IS RIGHT (1) sat on the speed and bolted in here last start, running away to win by 2.8L. The rise to 1435m today doesn't look an issue and while he carries the big weight, Riordan's claim is a big tick. Can find the front again and repeat the dose. SMART SHADOW (5) is third-up today and showed improvement last start in a CL3 at Port Hedland, finishing only 1.3L away as the equal fave. Fitter for that run and getting out in trip again is a big tick. Sticky gate, but she can go close with further improvement on the cards. PUDDIN 'N' PIE (8) dropped back in trip last start and was too strong at Port Hedland, winning by 1.5L. Will need a touch of luck from the gate, but she's shown good early speed in recent races and she's not to be discounted. THE TOP BAR (3) has dipped his past couple but is right up to this if he can bounce back to his best. CHEDDAR BOB (6) won't be far away dropping in trip. SUGGESTED PLAY: Spice Is Right looks the one to beat. |

CHAFF CITY HANDICAP 1300m
Ima Wild Girl should find the front with Marines Cry and What Shout on her heels. MARINES CRY (4) bolted in at Roebourne but couldn't repeat the dose last start at Port Hedland when finishing 3.4L off the winner. She remains right down in the weights with Webster's claim and she may be able to work across from a wide alley. Can return to winning ways. QUEEN NARDI (1) resumes for the new stable today over a trip well short of her best. She is a first-up winner in the past however, and coming in without a trial may see her fresh enough to fire over the 1300m fresh. Probably the class horse of the race, but if she's sharp enough is the query. APHRODITE MAGIC (3) is better than she's shown her past couple, coming up to Broome last start and never really getting into contention. Drawn sticky again today, but the slight rise in trip may suit and she can be in the finish this time. COUSIN NICCI (5) gets the tongue tie on and can improve back in trip. PACIFIC LADY (8) is next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Marines Cry gets the nod. |

TABTOUCH BROOME SPRINT 1300m
Plenty of pressure on from the outset. TINSNIP (5) bolted in here last start when second-up into the campaign, scoring by 2.4L at this track and trip. Drawn out a little further this time, but she has shown good early speed and may be able to slide across from out there. The one to beat on his recent figures. BORDER CONTROL (4) just keeps winning, making it five in a row last start at Port Hedland when he led all the way to score by 1.1L. Faithfull hops back in the saddle now as she replaces the apprentice hoop. Drawn to get his chance and will give a bold sight up in grade. CRYSTAL VAIN (2) got the job done two back before a 2.4L defeat here to Tinsnip most recently. The wide draw and is the big niggle for him, but he can be strong late in the race if they overdo it up front. BIN SHALAA (8) is another speedy customer who will need some luck, but she's not out of this on her best form. MOCHA DREAM (9) can play a role third-up into the campaign. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Tinsnip in the feature. |

ALLURE 'SOUTH SEA' PEARLS HANDICAP 1300m
Rommel's Jeuney is expected to lead at a keen tempo. ROMMEL'S JEUNEY (7) was gunned down over the mile here last start and drops back to 1300m today where he's performed well in the past. He has enough speed to be prominent in the run from a sticky gate and he'll be hard to hold out if he runs up to his recent efforts. FRIES WITH THAT (5) finished off well last start over the mile here when settling in the back half as the race favourite. He won two back over 1435m when leading throughout at this track and the form out of that worked out well. Racing in good order and is expected to be in the finish again. HIDE THE OREOS (4) bounced back to form last start with a 1.5L defeat here. The form out of that race worked out very well and the drop in trip is no issue as he's a track and trip winner previously. Can go one better this time. KIA ORA TATOU (1) gets Faithfull in the saddle replacing the apprentice and won't be far away. BIG CITIES (2) has to be included on his best form. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Rommel's Jeuney to win the last. |
