Pace strong with Thurmond and Dusty's Deel charging forward to join Chosen Legend who kicks up on the inside. THURMOND (5) made his Australian debut at Pakenham when sent out a $2.50 chance over this trip, sticking on well for third, beaten under a length. He should come on plenty from that and should prove very hard to run down. ROSE DIAMOND (14) debuted at Bendigo over 1300m and ran well when third. She gave the indication this trip would suit and she draws for a nice trail. REGAL LOVER (7) struggled second up but had been good on resumption and should appreciate the step to 1600m now. NOBLE STEED (3) ran on well on debut, it's just how far back he gets here from the wide draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Thurmond to win. |

LAKE VOSTOK (6) is knocking on the door with consecutive minor placings, leading at this track over 1600m last week and sticking on well for third, beaten a length. Similar tactics should be adopted here from the soft draw and she should prove hard to beat. EISHAA (4) comes back slightly in trip having placed over 2040m at Moonee Valley last time out. She draws well here and 1800m looks a good spot for her. FRIDAY AT FIVE (3) is racing well, just outbobbed in the Dunkeld Cup last time out having won well prior. From the inside gate, she should take catching. STARSPANGLED BABY (2) hasn't fired of late but wouldn't completely shock, similar story for KIND GESTURE (1). SUGGESTED PLAY: Lake Vostok to win. |

Strong tempo with Toros, Ersa and Inexorable leading the way. CHAKADO (2) comes through a good race on Cranbourne Cup day when fifth behind the smart Oh Too Good, beaten 3.5 lengths. He comes back to a Class 1 now and maps for a soft run on the pace. Looks one of the hardest to beat. INEXORABLE (1) is becoming tough to follow, beaten four times in a row at relatively short odds. The wide draw doesn't do him any favours but he's got the ability. ERSA (3) resumes. This is a good trip for her fresh having run well without winning last time in. Watch the betting. HELLO MARY (4) presents third up having stuck on well at Kyneton second up. She maps well and can figure. SUGGESTED PLAY: Chakado to win. |

Good early pace from Samangu and Peri Peri Rich going forward to hold out some other speedy customers. SAMANGU (4) resumed off a long spell at Ballarat and won very well as a $2.10 favourite, scoring by two lengths over 1100m. She draws wide this time but has the pace to push forward and the upside to go on with it. RUNAWAY STATEMENT (8) resumed with a solid run at Ballarat in a slightly easier race but will strip fitter for this and can be running on nicely late. SHE DARESTHE DEVIL (3) is racing consistently and has each-way claims. ROCKABILLY REBEL (2) can measure up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Samangu to win. |

Sportsbet Race Replays Handicap 1200m
Hot pace certain with Rockabottle, Faberge Tzar and Tarzi Calling keen to take up the running. INTREPID EAGLE (1) is racing consistently and comes back slightly in grade for this having worked home well for second at Donald, albeit beaten 3.5 lengths. He's back in trip again but does have a good record at 1200m and this isn't the deepest race. ROCKABOTTLE (2) resumes. He won both starts last time in, the maiden fresh win at Sale especially impressive. Tough to get a gauge on his jump outs but he must be respected. EASY JAY (3) is racing consistently, dominant in easier grade two back before a sound effort at Moonee Valley. If he gets a clear run through from the inside he'll be thereabouts. WHERE'S POPPY (4) broke through for a narrow win at Kilmore last time and could give some cheek. SOCIAL CONSCIENCE (6) was good fresh and fitter now. SUGGESTED PLAY: Intrepid Eagle on top. |

Solid tempo with Fitzpatrick to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. BUTTERNUT PRINCESS (8) started favourite fresh and got the job done at Kyneton fresh. She tackled two good races last time in, beaten around four lengths by some stakes performed types and is open to plenty of improvement. If she can settle closer from the inside draw here she can go very well. HARPALEE (2) is knocking on the door and was good here last time behind a promising type in Royal Insignia. That form should hold up. LOAFER (4) resumed with a solid BM58 win at Kyneton and has form around Butternut Princess. She can land in a good spot and take catching. FITZPATRICK (1) is coming along nicely and right in this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Butternut Princess to win. |

There should be a bit of early pressure with Platinum Destroyer going forward in advance of Lukan and Cyclone Harmony. PURVEYOR (6) resumes. He was beaten a long way prior to a spell but it was in a good 3yo race at Flemington over 2520m which saw him out. Interesting placement fresh, watch the betting. PLATINUM DESTROYER (5) is racing consistently and just needs a good ride from the wide draw to be right in the finish again. KING OF WESSEX (8) worked home nicely fresh at Bendigo to grab fourth. This trip will suit and Shinn on is a big plus, he may get a fair way back from the draw however. CYCLONE HARMONY (2) was dominant last time and has claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Purveyor. |

It just looks an even tempo on paper. NAVY KING (4) resumed with an encouraging run in the Ararat Bowl over 1300m, running on well for second, beaten a long neck. He got over much further last time in, looking very smart when winning over 2000m at Flemington, and the rise to 1500m now looks ideal. ROADCONE (14) is racing well without winning, beaten a couple of times when hard in the market. Like the senior jockey going aboard. THE JESTER'S SON (12) was good fresh at Pakenham and has the ability to test these. DE BERGERAC (9) was a bit plain last time but is worth another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Navy King to win. |
