RAY WHITE IPSWICH Maiden Handicap 1660m
Nagamie, Noctilucent and Meanasenko to push forward from wide out and set a good tempo. NAGAMIE (1) is unlucky to still be a maiden finishing runner-up in four of five starts to date and strikes a very winnable contest here. Hoop Harley sticks in the irons and should be going very close against this lot. The well-related NOCTILUCENT (2) (half to G3 winner Dracarys) just missed the placings at the Gold Coast on debut before going down by the narrowest margins at Beaudesert at the latest effort. Improving with racing and looms as the main danger. WOWZINO (5) has been thereabouts in all three outings so far and gets the deadly Vanduke/Maloney combination. Top-three aspirations. ZINOTAR (3) also hails from a handy family (half to G1 winner Music Magnate) and looks a genuine hope on best form. WIMOWEH (8) next in line from the astute barn. SUGGESTED PLAY: Nagamie to finally break through. |

RIVER 94.9FM Maiden Plate 1200m
Expecting French Empire to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. FRENCH RIVIERA (10) didn't measure up in town on debut before being tipped out for time to furnish. Has since returned with a solid third at Doomben and will have come on with that run now under the belt. Rates the testing material. TORERA (11) has hit the top-five in all four runs this preparation including a runner-up finish around this circuit. Will be rock-hard fit for this and should be going very close. FRENCH EMPIRE (5) was well in the betting when facing the starter for the first time and where there's smoke there's fire. Draws low and can play a major role in the outcome. BOOTS WITH THE FUR (1) placed on debut at the Gold Coast and will take a lot of benefit from that race day experience. In the mix. SHAQUE D'AMOUR (8) next in line. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 10,11,5,1. |

TAB Maiden Plate 1200m
Neil and So Yes It Is should lock horns early at a strong clip. Former Victorian SILVER HAMMER (1) is first-up here for the new stable but the form he showed down south was more than good enough to be competitive in a race like this. Has placed three from three when fresh and gets Maloney on board from the favourable draw. Ticks plenty of boxes. THREE TEES (9) has hit the top five in all three starts to date and must be respected from the Gollan camp. Looks a serious danger. THE HINDUSTAN (4) has placed two from two around this circuit and should be hitting the line with gusto. ATTENTIVE (15) strips fitter second-up from the spell and may earn some minor money. SO YES IT IS (2) best of the rest with Jones in the saddle. SUGGESTED PLAY: Silver Hammer to shed the maiden tag. |

GREAT NORTHERN OPEN Handicap 1200m
Plenty of pressure on from the outset. ROLL UP (7) saves his best form for this circuit with four wins and a placing from just five starts and should be ready to peak now third-up from the spell. Looks the one they all have to run down. REJOICED (4) is a bit of a hit-or-miss type but is yet to miss a drum in four outings here and can play a role if he brings his A-game. AZZAREACH (5) has two wins and two placings from six starts over this distance range and may fill the frame with any luck in running. OVIDIUS (2) next best from the inside alley. SUGGESTED PLAY: Roll Up to win. |

INGLIS XTRA BONUS SERIES QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1350m
Strong early tempo with Mishani Reactor and Billilicious leading the way over Here's To Power. HERE'S TO POWER (8) has been knocking on the door of a maiden victory and this is not an overly strong affair. Has placed over this track and trip, draws the inside alley and gets in well at the weights with the claim. Plenty to like about her prospects. Former NSW galloper HUMID (9) wasn't disgraced in two metropolitan efforts down south and should find this assignment much easier. Can feature while fresh. LOCH AWE (2) just missed the placings at Doomben on debut and will have derived a stack of benefit from that day at the races. Top-three commodity. MISHANI REACTOR (3) has hit the frame in all three starts since joining the new stable and must be kept safe. KEEP IT LOKI (1) was well in the betting at Toowoomba on debut and any further market support must be noted. SUGGESTED PLAY: Here's To Power to break through. |

BARRIER REEF POOLS QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1350m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by I'm Heroic. SAVOUR THE DREAM (1) is first-up here but the form he showed in his first preparation was full of merit, hitting the frame on all four occasions. Tuned up for this with two recent trial hitouts and should be going very close while fresh. LARIDAE (4) got the chocolates at the Gold Coast two back before not being disgraced in town at the latest effort. Will find this easier and looks set to run well. BLITZUM (3) broke the maiden status in impressive fashion around this circuit when resuming and will have derived a bunch of confidence from that victory. Can go right on with the job now. I'M HEROIC (8) was a touch disappointing last time out but the three runs prior were very good. Worth another chance. WALSH BAY (2) best of the rest with Wiggins in the stirrups. SUGGESTED PLAY: Savour The Dream to return a winner. |

SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 800m
Fast pace assured with Big Sky Country, and Flaming Conquest leading the charge. STELLAR LADY (11) is a consistent mare who has hit the top-five in all four starts to date and looks like the galloper in this field with the most upside. Rates a significant threat. BIG SKY COUNTRY (5) has won five of his past seven and is racing with a lot of confidence. Top-three candidate. BECAUSE THE NIGHT (8) has won over this track and trip and looks one for the exotics players. FLAMING CONQUEST (1) next in line with the 3kg claim. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 11,5,8,1. |

GORDON'S GIN BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1660m
West Cork and Chasing Jackley to take up the running at a strong tempo. SECOND SUN (9) goes well for Thornton who has a win and two placings from just four rides and should be ready to peak now third-up from the break. Drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and should be right there when the whips are cracking. LUDOVISI (2) has been thereabouts in all four runs this time in work and gets the deadly Gollan/Orman combination. Worth serious consideration. WORTH AVENUE (10) doesn't win out of turn but has hit the top five at her past eight outings and doesn't know how to run a bad race. A must for the multiples. The well-related WEST CORK (8) (half to G1 winner Qafila) has placed two from three over this track and trip and may earn some minor money. SCHMOOZER (1) rounds out the selections. SUGGESTED PLAY: Second Sun to return to the winners' stall. |

IMPERIAL RACING BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1350m
Slick tempo assured with Convincebility leading the charge. BOOM SHOT (3) grows a leg for hoop Orman who has two wins and four placings from just six steers and will strip fitter third-up from the break. Has only missed the top four once in eight career starts and is one from one over this course and distance. Looks very hard to toss. CONVINCEBILITY (2) will have come on now with that first-up run now in the locker and gets some weight off with the 1.5kg claim. In the mix. AITUTAKI (15) has placed over this track and trip and may trouble the judge with any luck in running. SKYWRITER (10) is next best from the Waller stable. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boom Shot to win. |

VALE BILL HALL BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1100m
Fast tempo assured with Thankyou Henry and Surreal Ascot going at each other early in the piece. Looks a wide-open affair to close out the card. BOSSED UP (1) is building up an impressive record with three wins and three placings from just eight outings and has won when second-up before. Has a handy association with rider Orman and should be right there when the judge calls a halt. THANKYOU HENRY (8) is one from one over this track and trip and looks to have plenty of upside. Top-three credentials. QUADE (6) has only missed the top five once in 13 starts and should be hitting the line strongly. THE FIXER (4) is a last-start winner and must be respected from the Bruce barn. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 1,8,6,4. |
