Moderate tempo expected with Hobelar likely to find the front over Fifth Essence and Be Awesome. NICKELPLAY (8) has raced well at Listed level, and she resumed with a solid effort at Belmont. She maps well, and the longer sprint suits. Wins at best, and she should be ready to fire. OCEAN GODDESS (9) didn't have the best of it at Belmont, but went close at Ascot the three starts prior. They were all in stronger and she's suited today. She has a wide gate, and that needs managing. HOBELAR (1) improved beaten 1L at Ascot. He's still lightly raced and may have turned the corner. ONE PUNCH (4) missed a whisker here this grade and will be better for it. Finally draws an inside barrier, and the 3kg claim brings him into it. FIFTH ESSENCE (2) also deserves consideration.
