A number can race forward and an okay tempo is anticipated. A good contest. LACEMAKER (11) is third-up off a 1.5L defeat at Bendigo and is still shy of his peaks. Maps for the run of the race and can fire today for a leading metro yard. ELBA (9) is another strong winning chance for the Freedman-Lane linkage. Was narrowly beaten twice in town before spelling and first-up won a Cranbourne Maiden as expected. Draws awkwardly but the longer sprint suits and she has more to give. Waller-trained VANISHING (8) had been well-trialled and belted the Ballarat Maidens on debut by 2.8L. Fitter for that and the longer sprint should be ideal. Childs sticking in the saddle is a decent lead. TIZ TIME (7) resumes and is also promising. Dee is booked and her ratings stack right up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Lacemaker.
