GOING: G(4)

SEVEN NEWS BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1666m

Track: GOOD 4   Rain (Max: 22)   Rail: True. (Pent: 5.1).

A keen early tempo headed by Greek Star, Tambourine Man and Hot Bananas who take advantage of their low draws. AU REVOIR (14) is hard to catch but did score as favourite on the poly track at the Gold Coast in her penultimate run. She picked up a lot of late ground last start at Beaudesert on a testing heavy track that day. She has a few things in her favour this time and is capable of figuring in the finish at decent each-way value. DEAL AN ACE (22) he will be peaking third-up after back-to-back second placings at the Sunshine Coast to open this campaign. She steps up to a suitable journey now and can go one better this time. Stick with her. AROUND THE BUOY (7) got too far back after making a slow start last time out when resuming here 12 days ago. He will relish the step up in trip to a mile and if he can make an even beginning from a superior draw this time, he should make his presence felt in a very competitive contest. DULCET (5) is having his first start from the Queensland arm of the Chris Waller stable. He had a recent Deagon trial to keep him ticking over and can give this a shake. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dulcet each way.
