No obvious leader in a race that lacks much early pressure on paper. CORAL EMPEROR (2) is an honest type who fought on well enough for third at Avoca over 1860 metres last time out. He drops back slightly in trip which will suit him and with a superior gate, he is expected to be right in the finish again. CAPTAIN ELECTRIC (4) got going late over the mile at Pakenham last start when finishing fifth and before that he was runner-up over the same trip. He will be suited by the extra 100 metres here and only needs some luck from a wide gate to be an each-way threat. RANDALSTOWN (8) stuck to his task gamely when finishing fifth on debut at Benalla. He is immediately up to a middle-distance which his breeding says will be in his favour. A good draw helps and he can improve quickly. Each-way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Coral Emperor to win.
