Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Rally The Troops. A good contest with some promising gallopers engaged. FANCY RED (5) seeks the hat-trick off a spacious win here as a $2.7 favourite. She keeps getting better, and Pike stays aboard. She can go on with the job. The speedy RALLY THE TROOPS (3) is a live chance, building on his easy win at Pinjarra. He'd gone close at Ascot prior and will take plenty of catching. PATRON EXPRESS (1) has raced well at Listed and Group level but disappointed at Pinjarra second-up, backed off the map. Has the inside gate and a handy 3kg claim, and his best is good enough. PURO (7) was much too good for a CL2 field at Albany, spiking her figures. That stacks up, and the hat track doesn't look beyond her reach. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Fancy Red.
