Observer to take up the running at a moderate tempo. OBSERVER (1) should have taken plenty of benefit from a strong debut at Pakenham over 1200m when boxing on nicely for second. He's by Ghaiyyath who was a top class 2400m horse and the way he raced suggests the rise to 1400m will suit. Can roll forward and go one better. WENTWORTH FALLS (7) wasn't beaten far in a good race at Hawkesbury last time out on wet ground. That form should hold up well here. FIERCE FIGHTER (5) worked home okay over a shorter trip on debut at Sale and will improve up in trip. Did enough there to suggest he's a winning chance. THUNDERBOLT WAY (6) was well beaten on debut at Flemington but wasn't terrible and this is easier. Can do better. BLUE ENSIGN (4) perhaps next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Observer to win.
