Expecting Get Up Gate to set a genuine tempo after crossing from wide out. VERTE MARIN (13) did well to score at this track two runs ago. Not disgraced last time out when in the firing line on the corner before finishing second here. Has started three times at this course and distance and is yet to miss the placings. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot make amends. ADMIRABLE ACE (1) returned from a spell last start with a strong win by half a length at Urawa. Will be better for that latest run and this looks well within his grasp. HAPPY VALLEY (12) returned from a spell last start with a strong win by 1.5 lengths over 1500m at this track. Will be better for that latest run and another big run will not surprise. GET UP GATE (10) ran below expectations last start, finishing seventh. Finds a nice race and can bounce back.
