Solid tempo anticipated with Meiner Oscar leading the way. SCALLYWAG (9) raced on the speed last start over this course and distance and stuck on well to finish second, beaten a neck. Worth noting Shuji Akaoka goes aboard. Facing a tougher assignment but he is good enough to take this out. NOCTURNALITY (8) has been thereabouts without winning, the most recent effort a second at this track over 1400m when he was beaten a neck. Has a good record here at this journey with two wins and four minor placings from eight starts. Will be hard to stop. NEO BRAVE (7) turned in a fine effort to win by 0.8 lengths at this course and distance last start in a much-improved run. Meeting a deeper field this time but he deserves plenty of thought. MEINER OSCAR (5) showed good early dash last time out and led for most of the way before being claimed and finishing 1.5 lengths away in second over 1400m at this track. Worth including.
