Hot early pace is on the cards with Purple Operator, Arividicio and Midnight Caller matching motors. MIDNIGHT CALLER (4) set the pace over this distance on the turf here last time and fought on strongly to score a game victory. Four of his five career victories have come over this distance. He meets similar company and with a 4kg claiming apprentice in the saddle can follow up. ARIVIDICIO (3) showed good improvement in his last start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course when finishing third of eight. He takes a slight drop in class and rates well as an each-way chance. WINTER WAVES (9) looks close to a win following a last start third of seven over 1400m at this track. Has the speed needed to overcome his wide draw and is well worth considering. RELEASE ME (6) missed the placings two runs back then didn't feature last start when finishing seventh of 12 over 1600m at Scottsville. This is a nice drop in grade and he looks well placed in this line-up to return to form.
