SHEATHERS MACHINERY COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
Tricky one to map with a number of first starters but over this trip there is good speed anticipated. VARAZZE (10) is a 19-start maiden but looks a great chance to finally get the monkey off her back. Raced on the speed but couldn't run a strong 1405m on a heavy track last start at Coffs Harbour. Has placed six times at this trip and loves racing here. Should be fine in these conditions over the shorter trip so give her one last chance. MARKWELL TOPSORT (3) lines up for the third time after two close seconds to launch his career, both times over 800m at Coffs on rain-affected tracks. Goes fast and only has to run a strong 1000m to be right in the finish. Unbackable at the early prices on offer though. SWEET MARLENE (9) lines up for the 20th time. Has raced here at this trip three times for three placings so she must be respected. The first starters JUSTBEYOURSELF (2) and EXPENSIVE ICON (1) haven't set the world on fire at the trials but in a thin race a podium finish for either is not out of the question. SUGGESTED PLAY: Varazze is worth a small investment to topple to hot pot. |

CP ROOFING BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1000m
A hot tempo is expected with plenty of speed engaged. COME ON GLAMOUR (4) returns from a three-month spell. Came of age last prep winning three of her last four runs, all at today's journey. Has a fine fresh record and handles all going so she has every base covered. Rising ten-year-old BRAZEN BRANDO (7) continued his fine form of late when runner-up in a similar race to this at Port Macquarie last start. Relishes the heavy tracks and is a 1000m specialist. Sure to give a great sight again from the favourable draw. THE PICCOLINO (8) hasn't won for 12 months but did finish third here at this trip two back, the best of five runs this prep. Handles the heavy ground so this looks a nice race for him. SILENT SERENADE (6) last appeared when successful over 1400m at Tamworth on 23 February. Placed at both first-up runs and in the money at all four 1000m outings. Must be respected. CASHAWAY GOLD (2) resumes. Led all the way to win here at this trip on a soft track when fresh from a spell last prep. Has the right profile. SUGGESTED PLAY: Come On Glamour to win first-up. |

COLLISION PAINT & PANEL MAIDEN PLATE 1250m
Poshy's Girl to take charge ahead of Dijon Autre at a strong tempo. The scratching of Royal Botanic leaves the door open for POSHY'S GIRL (9) who made it two placings from as many runs when she battled on well for second last time out over 1300m at Newcastle. Handled the heavy on debut at Coffs Harbour. Back in class and draws a nice gate so it is hard to find a weakness. KIWI HARMONY (8) lined up for the third different stable this prep when a closing second in heavy conditions over 1006m at Port Macquarie recently. That run followed a seven-week break so she strips fitter and will appreciate the longer journey today. TENNANT CREEK (12) debuts. Decent effort in a recent Gosford trial. Respect any push in betting. SAHARA SPLASH (11) is back from a five-month spell. Wasn't all that far away at her last couple of runs before the break. Top four aspirations. Doubt the others can make any waves. SUGGESTED PLAY: Poshy's Girl to win. |

SHEATHER BROTHERS CELEBRATION MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400m
Strong tempo assured from Kowloon Magnate and The Big Ticket leading the charge. WOOTTON PLEASE (14) led and was game in defeat in heavy going over 1262m here two back. Dropped out over 1500m at Port Macquarie last time on a bottomless track. Better placed back to this trip and in a race weakened considerably by scratchings she can make a quick return to form. FASHION SPREE (9) is rarely far from the cash although she seems more effective on soft ground than heavy. Made some headway at Port Macquarie last time out in the same race as Wootton Please. Should give a good account. Market watch on KOWLOON MAGNATE (4) for the Archibald stable first-up from a seven-month spell. Showed signs of improvement at the tail end of the maiden campaign and is likely to have made progress over the break. SACRED WELL (7) was easily accounted for on debut at Newcastle but this is far easier. SPARTAN STEEL (2) gets a pass mark for his debut at Port Macquarie recently. Worth including in exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Wootton Please. |

BAKEWELL HAULAGE COREY BROWN CUP BENCHMARK 82 HANDICAP 1250m
What A Rush should find the front with Bodhi Boy and Xtra Approval on her heels. KOIOS (10) appreciated a big drop in the weights and a better draw when successful last start in soft conditions over 1200m at Kembla. Only goes up 1kg today and can keep improving at just the fourth run of the campaign. WHAT A RUSH (6) benefited from a five-week let-up when she led all the way for a decisive win over 1000m at Port Macquarie nine days ago. Grows a leg when there is plenty of give in the ground. Drops a massive 8kgs after Smyth's claim so she is sure to prove tough to catch again. PICK UP THE TAB (7) hasn't landed a blow in three runs this prep. Has raced once on a heavy track and scored at Kembla last prep. Takes a big dive in the weights today and might be the surprise packet. BABY RYAN (2) has revelled on the wet tracks of late. Has won three from six at or around this distance. Finds a suitable race and should give a good account again. BODHI BOY (1) is back from a 15-week spell. The winner of two from four when fresh so must be considered. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Koios and What A Rush. |

MCGRATH MANNING VALLEY WINGHAM CUP 1600m
Expecting Damascus Gate to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. NAVY BUOY (5) raced handy but offered little in the run home when resuming over 1300m at Warwick Farm last start. Has a far better record at the mile and handles the going. Ben Looker, with two wins from two rides on the four-year-old, is back aboard. Can turn things around. TALANA (6) stalked the pace then kept trying when a close third last time out over 1520m at Inverell. Scored a big win two back on a heavy track over this course and distance. Up in grade but with just 53kgs after the claim is right in contention. REBEL RHAPSODY (3) led and just failed to hang on recently in a 1400m BM64 at Hawkesbury. Yet to prove himself at 1600m but should give plenty of cheek. FULL REGALIA (4) led and gave a kick but found the winner a shade too good (Talana third) at Inverell last start. Yet to fire on a heavy track which is the knock. The same cannot be said for SUPREME COMMAND (2) who has won three from six in heavy conditions. Raced once at the mile for a win so he has the right profile. SUGGESTED PLAY: Navy Buoy to win. |

CELLARBRATIONS WINGHAM CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1250m
Expecting Pride Of Lanka to lead Yesspecially at just a moderate tempo. MANE CHARACTER (6) won her maiden at huge odds first-up over 1200m at Gosford then laid in under pressure in the straight at Wyong last time and was well beaten at the end of 1350m. Freshened up and is worth another chance coming back to a more suitable journey. YESSPECIALLY (5) started at $1.80 and got the job done on debut a month ago over this course and distance on a heavy deck. Has to raise the bar a little in this company but that should happen. In good hands and is a big chance to keep the ball rolling. RED SPECTOR (4) is back from an 11-month spell. Raced just once last prep and wasn't beaten far at Gosford. Plenty of question marks but is talented - any market confidence should be heeded. HINUNE (7) returns from a long spell for the Archibald stable. Has had plenty of problems but is talented when right. Betting watch recommended. Slim pickings outside this quartet. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mane Character each-way. |

CRT WINGHAM PRODUCE COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1300m
Solid tempo anticipated with Deebee's Girl taking charge. DEEBEE'S GIRL (3) stepped up in trip and found a heavy surface for the first time which triggered a massive form reversal last start at this track over 1262m, leading all the way for a 5.2-length romp in a Class 1. This is easier if anything so despite going up 4kgs another win looks on the cards. ROYAL TEENS (1) showed a nice change of gears in the heavy ground to get up for a close second last time out over this track and distance. Has not raced for a month but she is deep into the prep so should carry her fitness. Looks a genuine threat. RUBICK DANCER (10) came with a huge finish to grab his maiden win at just start two over 1250m here recently. Has great scope for improvement so this is not out of reach. MOSGIEL DAISY (6) was only beaten half a length two runs back in a comparable race to this under similar track conditions. Worth including in the exotics. Last start Gunnedah maiden winner ARTIE'S MAGIC (2) took a while to show his best but is worth following now. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Deebee's Girl. |
