NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:20 TAB QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1050m
Charming Seahorse, Diante and Astilla to match motors but there will be other pressure. CHARMING SEAHORSE (2) was well supported on debut and showed pace before fading for third over 1100m at Mackay. Likely improver with leading rider going on. Take catching. DIANTE (5) is a two-start maiden who looks close to a win after placing at both runs, the latest when second over 1100m at Mackay. Has the pace to settle in the leading division. Likely to feature. ASTILLA (6) is an interesting one to line up. Made debut at Caulfield then went for a spell and switched yards. Showed pace in her first run in this area before veering to the outside rail, taking control of the rider and dropping right out. Has since won a trial. Well worth another chance. AIRBORNE AFFAIR (1) is a colt by Trapeze Artist from She's My Girl on debut. Won a recent Beaudesert trial. Showing ability at the trials and expected to run well. HOPE SO (7) is a two-year-old filly making her debut by The Odyssey out of Roux Star. Won a trial here and worth keeping safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Charming Seahorse.
2 12:55 GREAT NORTHERN Maiden Handicap (QTIS bonuses applicable 2&3YO's only) 1600m
The trio Best Eagle, Check One Two and Set For Life will set a strong tempo. BEST EAGLE (1) was solid fresh then improved sharply at Kilcoy over 1500m when runner-up. Fitter again and blinkers added. Should take catching this longer journey. GENERAL GORDON (2) resumed for a new yard over 1420m at Grafton in heavy ground and wasn't beaten far. Fitter for the longer trip and expected to be in the finish. ARGYLE GOLD (3) wasn't too far away over 1400m on the Sunny Coast last time and is suited here. Yet to place in six starts but five have been in richer company and drawn to sit with a trial and run on hard. One of the chances. FROSTY'S GOTCHA (6) is long overdue and can run another good race.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Best Eagle.
3 01:30 GET YOUR ROCKY CUP CALCUTTA TICKETS OPEN Handicap 1100m
Anticipating a genuine tempo over the 1100m journey. Good race with several prospects. KAI MONDO (3) is a speedy local who won this class by a space before a spell. Has a superb record at this course and distance and looks hard to run down. SAILOR'S RUM (5) is another speed type who is racing well, winning here two back before being swamped late in the latest when third. Well weighted with the claim and will take catching. UNIVERSAL HARMONY (6) was prominent at the bend and finished second last time over 1200m at Mackay, beaten 1.5 lengths. Working up to a win. PRESOCRATICS (4) improved sharply last time out to score by 1.3 lengths over 1200m at this track two weeks ago. This is tougher but has a strong record at this course and distance and is back in form. TRACK TALE (1) is fitter for two runs back and will be winding up late.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Kai Mondo fresh.
4 02:05 WADE HUNT IT OPEN Handicap 1400m
A strong tempo is assured with Pepperdine and Parade Ground leading the charge. DON PEDRO (5) is going well for the new yard winning his first try here fresh then beaten a nose last time at Toowoomba. Fitter for the longer trip and looks very well placed with the claim and the light weight. SCRUB CHAIN (6) came home strongly last start to finish second, beaten a nose, over 1560m at Mackay. Will drift back but wind up late. Leading contender. ASTRA STAR (4) has been racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a solid second at Townsville over 1400m. Has a solid record at this circuit. One of the contenders. PIPISTRELLE (1) stuck on well last start to finish third over 1600m at Doomben after showing good early speed. Perfectly placed and is sure to prove tough to beat. PEPPERDINE (7) wasn't far away fresh and is a second-up winner who boasts a terrific record here.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Don Pedro.
5 02:40 BURKE IN STYLE MENSWEAR RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1050m
Solid tempo likely from King Of The Vibe and Triple Spirit. TRIPLE SPIRIT (6) is a progressive type and former Victorian who was immediately off the mark for the new yard, leading throughout for an effortless maiden win. Kept fresh for this and drops a kilo. Has upside and can measure up again. CRYOSEISMS (3) is another former Freedman galloper who headed north and kicked off for the new yard with a big six-length win fresh. Has since kept coming and finished fifth this course and distance latest. Fitter again and can atone. BILLY BOOM (2) is a locally trained gelding who sat on the pace last time and fought on well when a neck away in second in the same race as Cryoseisms. Winning chance. KING OF THE VIBE (4) ran a better race last start to finish a close third when second-up over 1000m at Gladstone. Has his share of talent and is a top-three prospect. SPITZBERG (9) rates highly and is among the chances.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stick with Triple Spirit.
6 03:15 DIAGEO Class 1 Handicap 1400m
Not seeing a great deal of early speed. CRYPTOLOGY (4) is fitter for two runs back and looks ready to fire. Close-up third here last time and leading rider goes back aboard. Winds up strongly and gets his chance. SUMICH (7) was an easy maiden winner two back then loomed up latest and just didn't finish off late, finishing fourth. Drawn for a soft run and worth another chance. MR GREY (10) just missed fresh in easier then was fourth in the same race as Cryptology latest. Looks a key player. BOLD CHANGE (2) kept coming last time to place and draw to box seat here. Among the main hopes. OUT OF ACES (1) is another close to a win and looks next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Cryptology.
7 03:50 RENEW OR JOIN AS A RJC MEMBER QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1200m
Genuine pace with Phil Up taking up the running ahead of Leica Flamingo and Heart 'N' Power. Looks four main hopes. HALFACHANCE (1) has been racing in the south east of the state and is ready to win after two runs back. Will take catching off the inside. NEXT LEGACY (3) is also third up and looks ready to fire. Goes well at course and distance and looks weighted to feature. SHEMAKESMENERVOUS (8) got off the mark with the maiden win last time, scoring by a space. Fitter again and expected to feature. SCIALLA (5) is a three-start filly who was off the mark at her second start before finishing runner-up here last time. Has since won a trial. Has upside and can measure up. LEICA FLAMINGO (6) is going along well and rates a leading chance on best form.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Halfachance looks ready to win.
8 04:25 TAB CUP CARNIVAL $20,000 TRAINERS BONUS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1200m
Underrated, Hard To Dismiss and Ten Carat Lucy can set a strong tempo. TEN CARAT LUCY (10) deserves a win. Has never missed the frame in seven starts here, and has placed 3/3 course and distance. Since winning on debut has racked up six straight minors. Leading rider back aboard who did win on her on debut and looks hard to beat again. ITZA MOTZA (11) settled well back last start and made little impact in the straight when seventh over this journey at Kilcoy. Best figures measure up nicely. Drops in weight and should play a big role. UNDERRATED (4) resumed two weeks ago over 1050m at this track and was only beaten 1.2 lengths into fourth. Has never missed the placings at the second run back. Fitter this time. Hard to beat in this suitable race. HE'S THE ONE (3) hasn't been far away and is among the main chances. MOISSANITE (7) is overdue and is worth some thought again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Ten Carat Lucy.
