BATON ROUGE (2) showed a good turn of foot when winning his last start over 1950m on this course. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he can follow up with another victory. STATE CAPITOL (3) showed good signs of a form return when third over 1600m on this course last time. The manner in which she ran on at the finish that day was encouraging. She will strip much fitter and should give the males a decent run for their money. HIAWATHA GOLDBERG (5) ran a fair race when fourth over this course and distance last week Tuesday. Corne Orffer steps into the saddle and he can finish in the placings. MELA STRENGTH (1) finished sixth last time out over 1600m at this track five weeks ago as the favourite. Steps up in journey today. Should park just off the speed and is one of the main chances. |

HEAVENLY MAFIA (3) made the expected natural improvement when fourth over 1200m last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was eye-catching. It must be noted that the horse that finished third has come out and won since. She will love the rise to 1600m and from a good draw of three may find herself in the winner's enclosure. MIGHTY MARY (4) was unlucky not to have won her last start over 1400m on this course as she was held up for a run at the 150m mark. Can atone. ZENA'S ACT (5) set the pace over 1400m at Fairview last time before getting outrun late. Could prove hard to beat. GIVEN TO FLY (8) ran a better race last start, finishing fourth over 1500m at this track. Likely improver with strong each-way claims. |

GOLD GIBOSKI (1) has produced three good runs to date. Despite choking up in his last start run, he stayed on well to finish third. He should love the rise to 1600m and he jumps from pole position. Gavin Lerena retains the ride, and he should take a power of beating. SMART HORSE (3) showed some signs of needing his last start over this course and distance. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. ROYAL DAWN (10) showed massive improvement when second over this course and distance last time. He challenged strongly all the way to the line but found one too good on the day. He is back in Maiden Company and if confirming his recent improvement, he should be involved in the finish. BLAME IT ON ME (7) ran a fair race over 1400m last time. The 4kg claiming apprentice Sifisokuhle Bungane retains the ride and he can place. |

Has sound form here at this trip with two wins and two placings from seven runs. Best figures read very well. TANNERON (7) has some good recent form lines to her name. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts over this course and distance. She is consistent and should give the males a decent run for their money. PEACE OF MIND (2) was touched off in her last start over this course and distance. She takes on stronger rivals but is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to catch. |

If confirming that effort, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
