Sale Cup - Save the date 26th Oct Maiden Plate 1106m
Sweet Farnan might not get things her own way up front with a few debutants engaged. Tricky start with the newcomers looking to hold the aces. EMPIRE SONG (3) is one of those, a gelding by Hanseatic on debut for the Price & Kent Jnr yard. He looked good winning a recent Cranbourne jump out, showing speed to do so. Drawn well and the stable will have him primed. REGENERATION (8) is a gelding by King's Legacy on debut for the Freedman yard. He's been strong to the line in trials and did win a recent jump out. Must respect top stable. AIRWORTHY (1) is a colt by Farnan on debut for the Waterhouse & Bott yard, winning a recent jump out at Flemington in fine style. No doubt he'll be ridden positively and take catching. RATHLIN EXPRESS (7) is a gelding by Zousain on debut for the Stokes yard who has jumped out fairly well and draws the inside. Respect. Maffco Brewery and Distillery Maiden Plate 1106m
Expecting Mafee to take up the running with Coyote and Bossy Star close at hand. BOSSY STAR (1) narrowly on top. He's remarkably run third in six of eight career starts, resuming over this route with yet another bridesmaid effort. He was only beaten a length there and should strip fitter. Rates well. COYOTE (3) resumed with a good run at Werribee, sticking on nicely for third there behind one with decent maiden form. Has upside and will take plenty of catching. TOO DARN COLD (9) has been around the mark in two runs this time in over 1000m. He should land in a positive spot and can figure once more. JUVIANCE (13) presents third up having improved nicely at Pakenham last time out behind a handy one. Tough draw but will be hard to hold out, especially if the better ground is out wide. LUMINOL (14) resumes having been in the market on debut in NSW and struggling. Look for improvement. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bossy Star to win. |

Ladbrokes Owners Bonus Maiden 1415m
Sparkels Dior should find the front with Tamahine and Amberina on her heels. HOUSE OF LORDS (10) ran a strong race on debut at Sandown Hillside over 1300m, sticking on gamely for second there to be beaten 1.5 lengths. She's bred to stay so the rise in trip will suit, and if it becomes a test of stamina which it may well be, she'll take plenty of beating. TAMAHINE (12) wasn't far away fresh at Sandown Hillside in a bunched finish and was off a nine month spell there. She's always promised a bit and has run relatively well on a heavy track before. DAISY DUCK (7) was good over this route on debut when in the market, with the form out of that race working out strongly. Keep very safe. CLECNH (17) resumes for his second campaign and could be a quick improver this time around. SUGGESTED PLAY: House Of Lords on top. |

Kwik Tip Bins Maiden Plate 2226m
Scorpion should be able to comfortably find the front. SCORPION (6) looks the clear horse to beat. He's a 3yo taking on the older horses but has far more upside than most of his rivals. He just missed here over 1728m two back before an even effort at Cranbourne. Looks a real staying type suited by another rise in trip and may just prove too good for these. ROTATING SOUL (9) was outclassed in the G3 SA Fillies Classic last start but had been coming along well prior with a narrow second placing at Mornington two starts ago. Should bounce back. STYLE GUIDE (11) should be fitter third up off a solid effort last start at Moe. Quickly up in trip onto a heavy track is the query but she has claims. CHAUSSETTE (7) has only raced thrice and shown some ability. She was in the market last time at Mornington and now gets blinkers on. Don't discount. NIC SAYS NO (4) next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Scorpion to win. |

Fantasy Cocktails BM64 Handicap 2226m
The Storyteller should lead and dictate terms. TISHMAN (7) is a horse with some upside who presents third up. He ground home fairly at Sale after a nice return at Pakenham, giving every indication he'd relish this longer trip now. THE STORYTELLER (2) is flying, winning two in a row and doing it well at Pakenham over 2500m last time. Will have no fitness issues which should count for plenty here. THUNDER ZEUS (6) is off an easy maiden win at Cranbourne, scoring by three lengths. Should be fitter again and take some catching. TABOR (5) is also off a nice maiden win, scoring by 1.3 lengths as favourite here. Up in trip again but should handle that and is open to further improvement. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tishman to win. |

Plenty of pace with Cocobill and Vegas On Fire leading from Satin Image. GRACIOUS DIVA (11) can run a good race at each way odds. She's come back well with two minor placings this time in, finding the line nicely here behind Varane who has run well again since in stronger grade. Gets to a mile third up which is perfect and draws for every chance. SAMURAI (4) hasn't quite gone on with some early promise but is racing well, finding the line nicely over two shorter trips this time in. Wants every bit of this trip now and will be hard to hold out. COCOBILL (1) was outclassed in a much stronger race at Caulfield last start but had been going well prior and should be a quick improver. KOROBEINIKI (2) has each way claims on the win two back. SUGGESTED PLAY: Gracious Diva to win. |

Genuine pace headed by Whiplash who should kick up along the paint. Keen to be with SEINDEEL (7) who wasn't beaten all that far fresh at Pakenham over 1200m. That was always going to be on the sharp side for this son of Dundeel who ran some top races in good company last time in. Second up last campaign he won his maiden at Seymour over Belle Detelle who is now a G3 winner. WHIPLASH (14) is coming off a solid maiden win over this route when last seen at just his second start. More depth here but can go on with it at odds. CALEANA (15) won well on debut at Seymour before another sound effort at Kilmore in a slowly run affair. Can improve again. FABRICE (5) is consistent and an each way hope. SUGGESTED PLAY: Seindeel to win. |

Arroance should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep her honest. DE BERGERAC (1) has the class to be winning a race like this. He resumes here having been tested in better company last time in. Third to Thames when fresh last time at Cranbourne reads well and with any luck from the gate he can prove too strong late. TOPHET (10) was good fresh at Moe before an even effort behind the same horse here last time out. Should be ready to peak now and maps well. HARPALEE (6) resumes with some strong form last time in. She's a consistent filly suited this level. NASRAAWY (2) is racing very well this time in, no match for a smart one at Pakenham last time but holding second well. Should give a sight. JAKIVY (9) is in flying form and should take beating again. SUGGESTED PLAY: De Bergerac to win. |
