NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:06 Wodonga Jewellers Maiden Plate 1400m
Solid tempo likely from the outset with Manalore and Sophie's Award prominent. PRIVATE STORM (8) improved again placing at Geelong. That's good form for a country sprint and he's been kept on the fresh side. SOPHIE'S AWARD (14) ran a good figure at Wangaratta and then was overpowered at Ballarat after leading from a wide gate. This suits much better and he draws to advantage. GRUNDY THREE VOTES (4) maps for the run of the race and will be sharper second-up over a longer sprint. LUCKY MO (7) is a first starter from the Howley camp that deserves a market watch. Respect any moves.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Private Storm.
2 12:41 Rafferty Brothers Electrical Maiden Plate 1100m
Many of these step out for the first time so a frantic pace is likely early on over this sharp trip. FOXYKOBY (5) went close at Moonee Valley on debut before disappointing at Yarra Valley after (vet cleared). Resumes today with a 4kg claim and will be naturally improved. Draws awkwardly but should have them covered. PER SEMPRE (9) threatened twice at Moe and then had excuses at Seymour. She will drift back from the rail but can make the finish with average luck. SWEET PAREE (12) just missed at Narrandra first-up as the favourite and don't discount that form. Had come off a long break and has more up her sleeve. Metro-trained GOLD LIGHTNING (6) debuts and profiles well. Will be well prepared and is a betting watch.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Foxykoby.
3 01:16 Sleep Clinics Albury Wodonga Maiden Plate 2050m
Expecting a solid tempo set up by Our Uncle crossing from the outside stall. MISS TRAMELL (10) has been good at the provincials both runs this preparation and gives every indication the middle distance will suit. Has an outside barrier but should be finishing hard. KILKENNY LASS (7) improved again narrowly beaten at Echuca at this distance range. Finally draws a low barrier and keeps the handy 3kg claim. She should be right in it. Ex-Queenslander UNITED FRONT (6) tries hard and has his third run for the new barn. We're likely to see more over the longer distance. TENECA REIGN (12) is hard-fit and may be the best of the rest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Miss Tramell.
4 01:51 Premier Building & Construction 0-58 Handicap 2050m
Fiftysevenyears to find the front at a reasonable clip. Competitive. EASY ROAD (4) is back on the turf and measure his ability on the lip defeat three back at Wangaratta over this distance. Has an awkward gate but is fit and is suited in this line-up. FIFTYSEVENYEARS (1) has been close-up his last four outings and was a short-priced favourite at Tatura last time. He will lead or box seat and should go close. DOCTOR ROBERT (3) disappointed as favourite at Moe but just missed there prior. Draws the rail and a better effort is likely. KING OF THE WORLD (7) is capable of sharp improvement third-up. Keep onside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Easy Road.
5 02:31 Carlton Draught 0-58 Handicap 1100m
Genuine pace with The Big Shamrock and Capper Thirtynine matching motors early. Competitive. TURNAQUID (12) has been plainer her last two but was narrowly beaten here and at Kyneton the two starts prior. They would have her right in it and he maps well. THE BIG SHAMROCK (2) has threatened his last three and is back in grade off the latest at Ballarat. Needs a good ride pushing forward but should be hard to beat. CAPPER THIRTYNINE (3) tackles a shorter sprint and no surprise if it suits. Didn't have the best of it at Bendigo last time and this grade suits. REDNECK PRINCESS (11) was tracking well before the latest and races forward. Has a 2kg claim today and also has decent claims.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Turnaquid.
6 03:11 bet365 Protest Promise 0-58 Handicap 1100m
Genuine tempo from It's There leading. Tricky. SHAL EXCEED (1) resumes for a strong metro yard and has shown enough to suggest this is winnable. Maps for the run of the race and he will be naturally improved. Rawiller rides and is striking at 23% at this track (71 rides). ZOULON (2) got too far back at Wangaratta in tougher class. He was narrowly beaten here prior and that reads well. Gives way starts but has a handy 2kg claim and with average luck is a chance to bounce. SUPERIOR FORCE (8) has disappointed his last two but was tracking along okay prior. Some trust is required with him but he will be around the mark with average luck. DEFENCE FORCE (4) resumes and also holds appeal. Keep safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: The betting will be key with Shal Exceed.
7 03:46 First National Bonnici and Associates 0-58 Handicap 1400m
The speedy Enamour should find the front with Runaway Soul and Epice Dieu on her heels. Danny O'Brien-trained RUNAWAY SOUL (3) deserved the Maiden win and then spiked his figures narrowly beaten at Bendigo over this distance. Maps for the run of the race and Rawiller is a key jockey booking. Tough to beat. EPICE DIEU (2) led and won a Ballarat Maiden over this distance spiking his figures. It was a good effort and he can position handy. Will get every chance to take the next step. WHITEHART (11) will drift back from the rail but is going well enough to include in the trifectas at least. ENAMOUR (13) next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Runaway Soul.
8 04:25 North East Forklift Services 0-58 Handicap 1400m
Solid tempo with Frankie Two Angels leading from Surreal Winston and Garros. SURREAL WINSTON (4) needed the hit-out first up and following matched his best winning here this grade from the front. The shorter trip should serve to his advantage and he gets in well keeping the 3kg claim. Fitter again and can go on with it. PARIS SHIRAZ (9) was tracking well before the flop at Bendigo. She also comes back in trip and has been kept on the fresh side. Rates well at best. LEICA TROOPER (2) belted the Bendigo Maidens by 2L and then was just okay in a 64 at Swan Hill. He steps back to a sprint but is a hope with average luck from the wide gate. ARACHIDI (10) is capable of a much stronger showing this time and must be included as well.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Surreal Winston.
