NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:56 TOOHEYS EXTRA DRY MAIDEN PLATE 1180m
Pace will be genuine with Brandywine and Special Bella locking horns in advance of Let'savalook and Swing City. SPECIAL PROPHET (2) returns. Raced twice in his maiden campaign and wasn't far away on either occasion including the last run when fourth at Cowra. Should take a lot from that first preparation and is high among the list of chances. ANGEL OF SPRING (6) is a five-start maiden who finished fourth, beaten 2.25 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 1000m at Narrandera. Settles back early but winds up late. Will prove hard to hold out. AFTER THE ONE (5) ran above expectations and got up for second at long odds at her latest appearance at Wagga over 1200m. Good signs last time and can feature in the finish. LET'SAVALOOK (9) did her best work late and finished third last time over 1080m at Canberra Acton, beaten 2 lengths. Will trim down following recent racing. Nicely placed to fill a top-three spot again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Special Prophet the one to beat.
2 01:31 FURPHY MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000m
Good early pressure with Blazing Beverley and Upskill to vie for the lead. KULKYNE (8) is yet to break through in three runs. Finished fifth after being prominent at the corner at her last appearance at Werribee on June 1. Finds a suitable assignment this time and is a great chance to break through. SUPIDO STORM (6) raced once in the maiden preparation when finishing rearward at Albury on February 18. Capable of sharp improvement. ASPEN BOULEVARD (9) is a three-year-old filly who is having her first run for the Gayna Williams barn. Rates highly on best figures and is right in the mix. BLAZING BEVERLEY (7) returns for the smart Nick Olive stable and is worth keeping safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Kulkyne each-way.
3 02:11 XXXX GOLD BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000m
Strong early tempo with Hi Poppy and Yael's Delight leading the way over Hez Golden. HI POPPY (10) showed an improved effort last start when finishing fifth in a 1000m contest at Albury five days ago after being prominent at the corner. Finds a more suitable contest and can play a major role. YAEL'S DELIGHT (4) took advantage of the good draw and raced on the pace last start before tiring to finish fourth at Narrandera. Among the chances. HEAVENLY PROPHET (5) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing seventh at Goulburn over 1000m. Ideally placed and is right in the mix. HEZ GOLDEN (1) strips fitter and is a likely improver. Keep safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Hi Poppy to win.
4 02:51 HAHN PREMIUM LIGHT CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1100m
Keen tempo headed by the fleet-footed Hot Extraction. DILUTION (1) made light work of a maiden field at Narrandera last start. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Must be respected now that the penny has dropped. HOT EXTRACTION (2) registered his first win last start at Wellington. This isn't too much tougher and he is capable of another big run. FREDDY'S SHOCK (5) was safely held when sixth last start at Wagga. That followed a good first-up win at Wagga. Well placed and can play a major role. SINGLE ATTRACTION (4) best of the rest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Dilution gets the nod.
5 03:26 TOOHEYS NEW BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1700m
Good early pressure for top spot with Lafilio or Shallelujah likely to take up the running. AMEN BROTHER (1) did well to score at Queanbeyan two runs ago. Not disgraced last time out when in contention on the corner before finishing second over 1600m at Sapphire Coast. Perfectly placed and is sure to prove tough to beat. PHOTO MAN (9) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out at Narrandera. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. MAYFAIR HOTEL (15) was far from her best last start at Goulburn but had been racing much better in her two starts prior. Easier this time and is drawn well. Can bounce back sharply. LAFILIO (8) next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Amen Brother to win.
6 04:01 HAHN SUPER DRY BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400m
Loads of early pressure, primarily from Red Hill and Wonder Brahma. SMART POPPY (1) drifted well back last start before storming home to score at Narrandera. Likely to measure up again. MYSTIC FLAME (11) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at Narrandera, finishing third. Finds a suitable race and can find the winner's circle. KERMA ART (6) easily accounted for a maiden field over 1400m at Narrandera last start. Holly Durnan was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. This is tougher but he is capable of another big run. DIAMOND CARAT (8) next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Smart Poppy to win.
