NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:20 Sportsbet Photo Finish Refund Handicap 1000m
They are sure to run this at a solid clip, with Blue Renegade potentially joined by one or more of the strong contingent of unraced runners. BLUE RENEGADE (1) is the fit horse up and running. He's never finished outside the quinella and was far too good last start. Does have to concede them all a fair bit of weight. FIRST SETTLER (9) is a well-bred colt by Written Tycoon who cost $750,000. He's won a jump out leading in and must be respected. HUSK (4) is a handy type in the each-way mix. BUTTERNUT PRINCESS (7) is another first starter that needs to be respected if the market support is there for her.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Slight lean to Blue Renegade.
2 11:50 Sportsbet Bet With Mates Handicap 1100m
Hot early pace is on the cards with South Of Houston, Miss Icelandic and Mrs Chrissie matching motors. KIN (8) was a very frustrating conveyance last time in, finishing close up in plenty of races without winning, often at short odds. With a bit of luck and a good steer from D Lane, she can take this out. MISS ICELANDIC (5) resumes for a new stable. She won three in a row last preparation including a very soft victory at this track and distance, prior to tackling a Listed race in Adelaide and running fairly well. Suited this level and can win. MRS CHRISSIE (1) is racing well, winning two of her past three. Will give a bold sight again. LUNA CAT (4) should be thereabouts off a solid win last start and can measure up. WAVERIDER BUOY (6) doesn't win many but will be running on strongly.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Kin.
3 12:25 Become an MRC Member Handicap 2000m
Genuine pace headed by Golden Crusader who should kick up along the paint. TROSETTEE (4) has placed in all three runs this time in, running on well to grab third, beaten a long neck when out to this track and distance last start. Drops slightly in grade for this and draws well. Won't get many better chances than this. GOLDEN CRUSADER (5) should be set to peak third-up, showing good improvement last start at Sandown-Hillside to grab second. Should improve again out to this trip and will prove hard to catch from the inside draw. GOTTABESAVVY (6) continues to race consistently, running on well to score off a strong tempo at the midweeks last time out. Should be strong late again. GREGOLIMO (1) looked unlucky last start and might be getting back to something like his best which would almost win this. LITTLE JACK (12) is progressive and in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Trosettee & Golden Crusader quinella.
4 01:00 Whisky, Wine & Fire Handicap 2000m
Lack of early pace suggests a pedestrian tempo is on the cards over this journey. DESPERADO (5) might be the one to capitalise if the tempo is soft. He was a bit disappointing over 2400m last time but had been racing well prior and back to 2000m should suit. He beat Berkshire Breeze at his last start over this track and trip. JABBAWOCKEEZ (7) was okay in fourth over 1600m at Sandown Hillside last time out should appreciate the rise in trip. SHULTZY (8) is coming off a narrow win third-up at Geelong and could sneak into the finish. TORRANZINO (13) next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Desperado.
5 01:35 Sportsbet Feed Handicap 1200m
Strong early tempo likely with several going forward, headed by Diamond Decorator and Romantic Choice. SHEVA (4) resumes. She's a handy filly who ran some good races at the end of last campaign. Two starts back she won at this track and distance before placing narrowly in a Listed race at Moonee Valley. Drawn wide here but that shouldn't be an issue from the chute, and she should give a good sight. ENNA'S DREAM (5) has run third in both starts this preparation and the slight drop back to 1200m should be no issue. Right in this. UNCONQUERABLE (10) was beaten under a length in fifth at Flemington first-up and has plenty of upside. Can measure up. PARADISE CITY (3) has been good at her past couple and can give some cheek. BOSSY NIC (1) is a handy filly who can win again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sheva to win.
6 02:15 Lamaro's Hotel Handicap 1200m
Why Worry and Baraqiel should lock horns early at a strong gallop. Good race. THE OPEN (11) has done nothing wrong in three runs this time in, winning all of them and beating some handy horses in the process. He'll have to do that again at his first foray into Saturday grade but maps well and can measure up. BARAQIEL (15) is very progressive, winning all three starts to date, far too good at $1.70 at Swan Hill last start. He looks very smart and will be very hard to catch. JEWELLERY (14) showed a very good turn of foot here last start off a pedestrian tempo to win very well. Drawn to get back again but drops 2kg in weight and will be very hard to hold out again. MARS MISSION (9) is racing well and should prove a strong each way hope again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing The Open and Jewellery.
7 02:55 ive > Handicap 1440m
Gallant Prince has good gate speed and can overcome the wide alley to lead. MISS ROUMBINI (10) is a lightly raced filly coming off a soft victory at Sandown-Hillside, scoring by 2.3 lengths. Should have no issue stepping up to 1440m and draws nicely. She drops 1.5kg in the weights and can measure up. VALOIS (3) is a consistent type who resumed with a good effort, just finding one slightly better at Mornington. Fitter for that and does drop 5.5kg with D Lane taking the ride. NAMESAKE (1) was just fair first up at Flemington over 1100m but is far better suited to this trip. Pieces of his form last time in read very well for this. FLYING FIZZ (6) was no match for Miss Roumbini last time but holds an each-way hope. ALECTRONA (12) is a progressive type who can measure up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Miss Roumbini on top.
8 03:30 Sportsbet Jockey Watch Handicap 1000m
Abundant early pace from Our Cracklin Rosie and Gitalong FLEETWOOD (1) is a handy gelding down from Sydney who has won both starts this time in, too good at Warwick Farm first up before beating a talented type in The Black Cloud last start at Randwick in a Bm78. That form should hold up well. AMIGO (10) resumes. He won his first two starts last time in at short odds before tackling a strong race and running fairly well behind Brave Mead & King Colorado. He then tackled the G3 Cs Hayed behind Riff Rocket and wasn't terrible. 1000m the query here. GITALONG (5) won his first three starts last time in before starting hard in the market in a handy race at Geelong. He's trialled well and should take beating. LE PARRAIN (8) won well two back at Bendigo and was solid at Flemington. SOJU (11) was dominant last time and can measure up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Fleetwood on top.
9 04:05 Marshall White Quality 2000m
Expecting Dashing to set a strong early tempo. Tough race. MILFORD (3) has come back well and can atone for last start. He was a surprise winner two back over a mile at Flemington and didn't have the best of luck last start when out to this trip. Maps for a soft run here and might be better suited at this trip over a few rivals. SMOKIN' ROMANS (1) has been good at his past two and should be ready to peak getting to 2000m. He is a Group 1 winner over this trip and will take catching with the 3kg claim. FOUJITA SAN (9) ran on strongly to score out to this track and trip last start. Bit more depth here and likely to get a long way back again is the query, but he'll be hard to hold out. DASHING (4) is racing very well but 2000m has to be some query.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Milford & Smokin' Romans.
10 04:40 Sportsbet Race Replays Handicap 1440m
A strong gallop is likely with Georgie Get Mad and Edison taking up the running, closely attended by Rheinberg. CHORLTON LANE (6) looks very well placed again in this. He's won both starts this time in, winning easily at Bendigo first up before a narrow win off a slow tempo here last start. Goes from a Bm84 to an open handicap but drops 6kg for doing so and looks very hard to hold out. ST LAWRENCE (8) was good first up in Sydney in a strong BM100 before peaking off a very slow speed here last time. They may look to force the tempo themselves from the inside draw this time with the very light weight. RHEINBERG (13) continues to race well and should be thereabouts once more. HE'S OUR BONNEVAL (12) was left with too much to do at Flemington and can improve if the tempo is on.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Chorlton Lane to win.
