NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:07 BTC Constructions Handicap 1600m
The speedy trio Boom Boom Sweet, New Enterprise and A Big Chance can establish a strong tempo despite the small field. BOOM BOOM SWEET (1) just battled fresh-up over 1300 metres and he normally improves quickly with racing. The step up to a mile will suit him as will the drop in class. Hard to beat this time. TOO MUCH CLASS (3) made up some steady ground for fourth when resuming and she will be a lot sharper second up. She is straight up to a mile and can figure in the finish here. Each-way. A BIG CHANCE (6) is racing his way closer to another win. He has yet to win on this course but with a good draw and a nice drop in weight, he can set that record straight in this. FORTIS IN ARMIS (4) was a last-start winner at Gawler over 1700 metres and is part of the travelling Neil Dyer stable that has a lot of success on this circuit. Stick with him.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Fortis In Arms each-way.
2 01:47 Brittain Racing Handicap 1200m
Strong early tempo assured with The Stifmeister, Mutany and Lord Fenrir locking horns. THE STIFMEISTER (1) won at this level last prep and should be even better in this campaign with more time to acclimatize to racing in this area. He has a good draw and a handy 1.5 kilo claim will also help him. Hard to beat fresh up. CAPISTAN (3) has been patiently handled since making the move here from Victoria at the start of the season. He ran on strongly fresh up over 1100 metres for third and is good enough to take this out. MUTANY (4) is a progressive gelding resuming from a spell that would have done him the world of good. Jarrod Todd takes the ride which is a strong lead and the pair merit healthy respect. LORD FENRIR (5) did not kick on from a wide draw here last week and his first 2 efforts this prep are a better guide. With some better luck here, he can bounce straight back into the money.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Mutany each-way.
3 02:26 ROANT New Horse Scales Handicap 1200m
They should really hum along here over the 1200m journey. MOTIVATED MISS (3) was a big winner fresh up in lesser company and then tried hard last time out when finishing second here 5 weeks ago. She is likely to push on early from her wide gate and is expected to be among the hardest to beat again. WHITTEN (2) is resuming from a short spell and has won fresh up in the past. He can make the most of drawing in the pole position and should be very competitive at this level. CALL IT A LOAN (1) did not take long to break his maiden status since arriving from West Australia with a tough win here a fortnight ago. He has the scope to go right on with the job. EXTREME EMOTION (5) has improved since shifting from a Victorian stable earlier in the year. She was third last time out after winning before that and it is encouraging to see Jarrod Todd retain the ride. Each-way.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Call It A Loan each-way.
4 03:02 Darwin Family Law Handicap 1200m
Perkova, Zoumist and Soul Spirit to battle for the early lead at a slick tempo. ASTERN MAGIC (3) showed plenty of potential earlier in his career when trained in Queensland and has since changed stables after having one run this year at the Gold Coast on their poly track. He should be suited to racing in this area and the markets will be your best guide, Can win. SHECANMIXIT (10) has come of age and won her last race before going for a spell before resuming 3 weeks ago with a comfortable win by a length. It will be tougher from a wide draw this time but she is good enough to get the job done. POMPEII EMPIRE (4) has joined the travelling stable of Kym Healy after last racing at Morphettville earlier in the year. He comes to hand quickly and can make his presence felt fresh up at this level. LUCKY FORTUNA (11) resumed with a big win fresh up on this track a fortnight ago and can continue to maintain her solid track record with another honest effort in this. Stick with her.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Astern Magic each-way.
5 03:36 On Fire Racing Handicap 1100m
Plenty of early pace from Hellivit and Fly Nice vying for the lead, with a few others keeping them honest. FLY NICE (8) progressed nicely earlier in the year and her recent spell would have done her the world of good. She resumes at the right level here and meets a very open lineup. A 1.5 kilo claim will help and she should be right in the finish. TYQUENDO (14) won his final start last prep before going for a spell and is building up a very handy record on this track. A wide gate is no help but he has won twice fresh up in the past and can't be ruled out of winning this. POLARISING (10) showed a lot of promise in Queensland earlier in the year and should do well in this area. She has not missed a cheque in 3 starts fresh-up, including a win, and has to be respected. A market watch is advised. DUMMY SPIT (1) is close to another win and is worth including.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Fly Nice each-way.
6 04:12 JSM Civils Handicap 1000m
Rising Sphere and El Magnificence to battle for the early lead at a slick tempo. POP MAGIC (9) made good progress through the grades in his last campaign and is shaping up for his best prep yet. He normally needs a run but will be even stronger now and is good enough to take this out fresh up. RISING SPHERE (3) is a very competitive gelding at this level and won fresh up here 3 weeks ago. He drops back in class for this and a 4-kilo weight rise may not be enough to stop him from recording career victory number 10. THROW AT DA STUMPS (6) mixed his form at Alice Springs earlier in the year and should appreciate being back on this circuit. He has not missed a cheque in 6 starts fresh-up in the past, including 3 wins, and should go close to taking this out. LUMBER PUNK (1) has changed stables since last racing and does look very well placed in this company, despite having the top weight. Top local trainer Gary Clarke will have him ready to rumble fresh up. Watch the markets for any positive moves.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Pop Magic each-way.
7 04:45 Top End Structures Maiden 1300m
They should really hum along here over the 1300m journey. NASSAU COUNTY (5) is a long-time maiden and probably should have won a race by now. He gets another chance to break through after his most recent runs have been out of his class. The drop back in trip from a mile should help and he is worth another chance. FIERCE LEGEND (2) is an improving maiden gelding who should be even stronger after a recent spell. He has been away from the track for over 10 months but travelling trainer Neil Dyer will have him ready to fire fresh up. Each-way value. GO BARNEY GO (3) finished third over a mile here a fortnight ago and only weakened late inside the distance that day. He is better off over this shorter trip and should be thereabouts again. NICODEMUS (6) had 3 starts at Alice Springs earlier in the year with the best result being a fourth at his final run there. He is still part of the Gary Clarke stable which is a good sign and he is worth including in all combinations.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Nassau County each-way.
8 05:20 TAB ROANT Gold Cup 1300m
Expecting a strong pace from the outset with plenty of speed engaged. WOLFBURN (5) made light work of his rivals here in a similar field 5 weeks ago when scoring by over 3 lengths. He is headed for the top and with 2 kilos less to carry this time, he can complete a hat-trick of wins. NOIR DE RUE (1) has been a wonderful performer in this area for a long time and has not missed a cheque in 5 starts here over the trip, including 3 wins. He needed his fresh-up run a fortnight ago and is expected to improve quickly in this, despite his big weight. VENTING (4) had a very hard trip fresh up and still kept on kicking off a wide run to finish third. With some better luck this time, he can go close to taking it out. Stick with him on an each-way basis. SACCHARO (3) just battled fresh up but he usually takes a run before hitting his straps. He is nicely placed in this and only needs the right run to be the biggest threat to the top pick.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Wolfburn to win.
