Open Class galloper on the flat. In an astute yard so will be ready. Course proven on the flat. Can win this for sure. ATA RANGI (3) was a Hurdle trial winner earlier this month. Top two must here at first raceday jumps outing. DICTATION (1) is a top tier must here at his second Hurdle run. He was a close second in his first Hurdle outing. In a good yard so is a very big chance. RAKANUI (6) is an improver on Hurdle debut at last start. Not totally out of this. Tote will tell you for sure. MUGSHOT (5) is making his Hurdle debut. 2	11:15	BEST FORSYTH ELECTRICAL MAIDEN HURDLE 2500M 2500m The race pace here in this Maiden Hurdle event looks okay but the jumping by many of these looks rather dubious. YOULEDO (8) is going over the jumps for the first time. Won a Hurdle trial earlier this month. New yard now. Can win this for sure. CAPTAINS RUN (1) is an improver on his fresh up Hurdle run. Placed in both second up runs. Course placed. FOXALOT (9) has been very poor in last two Hurdle runs. Placed in his other Hurdle outing. Sure to have some backing in this. GO BUTCH (4) is taking on the jumps for a second time after finishing fifth at his only attempt at Te Aroha back on June 3. Bred to win more than once. Be very tote wary. VERRY ROYAL (10) is in a smart jumping yard so be very tote wary here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Youledo is a win wager.
3	11:47	TE WHANGAI ROMNEYS HAWKE'S BAY HURDLE 3100m The race pace in this Prestige Hawke's Bay Hurdle (3100m) looks good with English Gambler sure to run along clear in the lead early on at least. BERRY THE CASH (1) can win four races in a row. Majestic in his last two Hurdle wins. He can still win this with 72.5kg. He is a real jumping find for sure. LORD SPENCER (3) has had eight Hurdle runs for a win and seven placings. Include everywhere as he is yet to miss paying a dividend as a Hurdler. ENGLISH GAMBLER (2) likes to lead clearly. Dual winner here. Hold your breath he gets around. SMUG (7) has had seven runs as a Hurdler for a win, three placings and a fourth in a Prestige Great Northern Hurdle (4200m). Definite chance. TAIKA (4) he has had eight runs as a Hurdler for two wins and three placings and never finished the race in other three runs. Trifecta and first four chance. 4	12:20	NZ HUNTS' ASSOCIATION DUKE OF GLOUCESTER CUP 2100m The race pace looks likely to be solid here and in lanes throughout for this Amateur Rider only race. QUID (5) drifted back then closed strongly to score on debut over 2100m at Trentham five weeks ago. Can remain unbeaten on raceday. The top gun Amateur Rider is on here too and that is the key. ROCBAURY (7) produced her best run this time in at last start. Has placed in two of three course runs. Trifecta and first four must here. MOONLIGHT HUSTLER (12) won her Maiden here. Can handle dry and wet ground. Include everywhere in this field. CHOLULA (10) ran a good fresh up third for a new yard. Definite improver. Include in all of your multiples. DOROTHY'S DAUGHTER (9) is a class dropper here. Wet tracker. Two of three runs have been good this time in. SUGGESTED PLAY: Quid is a win wager.
5	12:53	I SEE RED SYNDICATE MAIDEN STEEPLECHASE 4000m The race pace looks ordinary in this weak Maiden Steeplechase field. DEVOTED (1) is a definite winning here chance. Placed in last two Steeplechase runs albeit last start was a very distant third. Will be very short here indeed. KENTUCKY BOY (3) scored two back in a Mdn Hdl (3000m) at Wanganui then was less effective last time when he finished sixth in an Opn Hdl (2800m) at Hawera, beaten 9 lengths. Two runs last year as a Steeplechaser. Stronger now. Should be the quinella. PEERLESS WARRIOR (5) is not totally out of this as bar the top two picks the rest of this field is very even. Chance for third or fourth. MONITOR (4) was runner-up in a Steeplechase trial at Cambridge over 2700m on May 27. Not out of this. FABULOUS NANCY (6) is a chance for fourth at best. Yet to pay a dividend as a Steeplechaser. SUGGESTED PLAY: Devoted and Kentucky Boy are win wagers.
6	01:26	AHD - ANIMAL HEALTH HAWKES BAY STEEPLECHASE 4800m The race pace here looks to be nothing out of the ordinary but things will heat up markedly in this Prestige Hawke's Bay Steeplechase (4800m) over the last 1000m or so. WEST COAST (1) is a superstar jumper. He can carry big weights and repels all challengers. Sublime record here too. Has had eleven Steeplechase runs for 8 wins and 3 placings. Winner. HEY HAPPY (4) last start won at Te Aroha in an Opn Stp over 3500m outing on June 27. Chance here for second or third if backed up quickly. IZYMYDAAD (3) got very close to the champ at his last start. Can place or be first four here for sure on that effort. AULD JOCK (7) is live on a hat-trick. Toughest test to date. Not the worst chance though. TE KAHU (2) was very distant at his last start. Place or first four hope at best here. SUGGESTED PLAY: West Coast is a win wager.
7	02:05	TARADALE CLUB HANDICAP 1200m The race pace here in this Open Class event over 1200m looks to be marginal overall and hard to see any real pressure being applied until the home turn. SAMOOT (3) is a dual winner fresh up. Has won on dry and wet ground. She is drawn well too and drops to 54kg after a claim. Win chance here for sure. OLD TOWN ROAD (1) is a class riser in this. Four-time winner here. Loves wet ground the most. Each-way for sure in this field. SPENCER (6) is live on a hat-trick this time in. Multiple class riser and he drops 4.5kg in this. Chance for sure. DURHAM LAD (5) was a poor run fresh up when he had some backing. Dual winner second up. Has won twice on the track too. SANIBEL (4) is a class dropper here. Down 3.5kg here and drawn the ace. BELLE'S ECHO (3) has been super consistent for ages and in fact has been top three in her last six starts. She has won dry and wet ground too. Hard to see her missing paying a dividend here. SACRED PEARL (4) is a class riser here after two fourths this time in. Has won third up. Super course record here. Include in all your multiple combinations. HACKSAW RIDGE (5) is a multiple class riser. Ace gate. Senior rider atop. Likes wet ground. CHASE (1) is a class dropper here. Course proven. Up 6kg on last start win. Can carry big weights. KICK ON (2) is a double course winner. Class dropper here. Place and first four chance in this for sure. SUGGESTED PLAY: Belle's Echo and Sacred Pearl are win wagers.
