Expecting El Mercurio to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. EL MERCURIO (9) went forward from the low draw last start and sat on the pace before sticking on well to finish third over 1300m at Mizusawa. Meeting a deeper field this time but she deserves her chance. A VOLONTE (3) drifted well back and failed to finish it off last start when sixth over 1600m at Mizusawa. Likely improver with strong prospects. RINNO PERFETTO (5) is experiencing a long win drought, extended last start when ninth over 850m at Mizusawa. Worth noting Masatoshi Yamamoto goes aboard. Steps up a level but he is up to the task. B B PADDLE (8) was seventh over 1400m at Mizusawa at his latest appearance. Well placed and can figure in the finish this time.
