Lots of pace on paper so expect a genuine tempo. VIVA DE JANEIRO (6) ran a good race in his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course, finishing third of 12. He received a check leaving the start but stayed on well at the finish. He meets the right field here and Gavin Lerena may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him when it matters most. CAN'T CATCH ME (5) ran a fair race in her last start over 1400m, finishing third of 17 when sent out at long odds. Good effort last start and can build on that performance. CARNELO (4) is better than his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course would suggest. If finding his previous form, he should be hard to peg back. ZOOMBOMBER (7) ran an improved race when finishing midfield last start at Turffontein Inside when jumping at long odds, worth including in exotic bets.
