Fast tempo assured with Bloomington, King's Express and Mardi Gras going at each other early in the piece. OFFICER IN COMMAND (5) was not disgraced when fifth in his last start over 1800m on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this distance. He takes a slight drop in class and may prove hard to peg back. MAJESTIC PALACE (4) won a good race in his last start over this distance on the Classic course. He meets similar company and merits healthy respect. KING'S EXPRESS (2) is better than his last start run would suggest as he was reported to be not striding out. He is unbeaten from two starts over this course and distance and with S'manga Khumalo in the saddle, he can keep that record intact. MARDI GRAS (3) was in the money two starts back at this track but couldn't back it up last time when sixth at Turffontein Inside over 1450m. Has his share of ability and can do a lot better here.
