Plenty of runners but the field lacks a pacemaker so a dawdling affair appears to be on the cards. DISSELATION (1) returned with a sound first-up run at Cranbourne when he faded late. Rates highly at best. Will be improved by the outing and a forward showing is expected. ENGELINE (9) worked home OK at Benalla when second-up and having second Australian start. Will be further improved and can take more beating this time around. CHESAPEAKE BABE (10) was quite good on debut at Bendigo when beaten 3.5 lengths. Started long odds there but outran that price and comes into contention here. TISHMAN (8) is a gelding by Dundeel on debut for the savvy Price & Kent Jnr yard. They have an outstanding record with newcomers here. Keep very safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Disselation on top.
