Should be able to get control early from the wide gate and prove hard to run down after struggling to see the mile out at Hawkesbury on April 18. BERTIE (6) well-bred seven-start maiden who finally showed something when plowing through the heavy (10) conditions to finish second over this trip at Wyong on May 2. Clearly done well and expected to stalk the speed. Go close. MEERUT (9) much better performance when ridden cold before swooping late to run third over 1200m at Gosford on April 25. Placed this trip and has top-three prospects. FIFTH FORCE (5) made an even return when ran on late to finish fifth over 1250m at Newcastle on April 24. Extra distance suits and King keeps the ride. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 4,6,9,5.
